Qizibing square
There is a small round square on the east side of the square, which is called "qizibing square" because it looks like a qizibing tea. On the qizibing square, there are various forms of stone carvings of Pu'er tea, including melon tea, cake tea, brick tea, square tea, Tuo tea, mushroom tea and so on. Pu'er tea has been made into pressed tea since ancient times. This is because pressing tea is convenient for weighing trade and long-distance transportation.
"The source of tea, the beginning of Tao" stele:
On the left side of the square is the permanent site of Yunnan Pu'er Tea Association. In front of the tea association is the "source of tea, the beginning of the road stele", also known as the "zero kilometer stele of tea horse ancient road". It symbolizes the starting point of the ancient tea horse road. The world-famous five ancient tea horse roads extend from here to the outside world, and Pu'er tea wafts along the ancient road. The monument was jointly established by Yunnan Provincial Department of culture, Yunnan Provincial Department of transportation and Yunnan Tea Horse Ancient Road Research Association. It was established on April 9, 2006, which is the date of the establishment of Yunnan Pu'er Tea Association.
Tribute tea return monument
Located on the north side of Chayuan square, the monument is 3.6 meters long and 4.6 meters wide, facing the zero kilometer monument on the ancient tea horse road. It was set up to commemorate the return of the longevity dragon troupe, a little-known and valuable tribute tea in the Palace Museum in 2007.
Pu'er City
In 1729 A.D., Pu'er government built a brick wall on the basis of an earthen wall. In 1753 A.D., it was changed into a brick wall. In the ancient city, there are more than 70 official offices, temples, pavilions and pagodas, guildhalls, city walls and school houses, and four gates. They are called Chaoyang in the East, Huaiyuan in the south, Xuanwu in the West and Gongji in the north. As an important economic, political, cultural and military center in southern Yunnan, and an important market town for tea production, processing and distribution, Pu'er City is full of guilds, merchants, day and night markets, horse Gang contacts, prosperous commerce and education. From a high altitude, Pu'er City looks like a big book. In the north of the city, Fenghuang mountain looks like a phoenix spreading its wings. It is as powerful as holding a book in the sky. The ancients also called it "Fenghuang holding a book". If you look closely, the shape of the ancient city is like a horse, the ancient city of Pu'er is really inseparable from the horse gang and tea. Unfortunately, after liberation, the city wall was in disrepair for a long time, coupled with the enthusiasm of new China's construction, it was demolished in 1951, and a ring road was built on the original site of the city wall. The majestic wall of Pu'er prefecture has a history of 222 years. Fu of Pu'er Fu written by Ning'er literati on the back of Fu city map.
The sculptures scattered in the tea source square reflect the Pu'er tea culture and caravan culture produced by Ning'er as the source of Pu'er tea, and represent the vivid images of people of all ethnic groups making and tasting tea in life and production. There is also a music fountain, which is open on weekends and holidays.
Main sculpture
The main sculpture of Chayuan square is round, which means full and unity. The top carving is an ancient tea tree with luxuriant leaves and tea picking children, which symbolizes the unity and prosperity of all ethnic groups in Ning'er County, and also implies that Ning'er is the birthplace of Pu'er tea and the source of ancient tea horse road. This circular sculpture is composed of four pictures, which respectively show tea planting, tea making, tea tasting and tea tribute, reflecting the situation that people of all ethnic groups in Ning'er have been living with tea in the long history, making friends with tea and paying tribute with tea; each horse head implies that Ning'er, as the source of Pu'er tea, carries hope to go to the world.
