Xuchang Museum
The new Xuchang museum is located in the South District of Xuchang Cultural Museum at the intersection of Xudu road and wisdom Avenue in Dongcheng District of Xuchang city. It always adheres to the museum's tenet of focusing on social benefits, tries every means to improve its conditions, constantly changes its internal environment and improves its external service level.
Xuchang museum is a medium-sized Museum in Henan Province. Its predecessor is Xuchang regional museum, which was founded in January 1979. The new museum was built in September 1986 and opened to the public in January 1988. The museum is built on the basis of Wenfeng tower of Ming Dynasty, a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Henan Province. It covers an area of 14000 square meters and a construction area of 5366 square meters. It has a gate, exhibition room, corridor, pavilion, pavilion, pavilion, stone Portrait Gallery of Han Dynasty and so on. It is a group of antique garden style buildings integrating north and South styles. Taking the East-West central line of Wenfeng tower as the axis, the courtyard is in the middle, and the exhibition hall and the cultural relics storehouse are distributed in two symmetrical "U" shaped courtyards, which are connected by the cloisters. Grey tile, blue roof, red paint dyed column, cornice angle, and the height of Wenfeng tower are scattered, integrated, reflecting each other.
Development history
The new Xuchang museum is located in the south of Xuchang Cultural Museum at the intersection of Xudu road and wisdom Avenue, Dongcheng District, Xuchang city. Completed and put into use in May 2011, it is a national level II Museum. The building area of the Museum (including the underground cultural relics warehouse) is 21384.75 square meters. It is a large provincial museum, which is divided into three floors, each floor is 7.2 meters high.
The old museum is located in the provincial cultural relics protection area of Wenfeng tower of Ming Dynasty in the middle of Wenfeng Road, Xuchang city. The new museum was built in September 1986 and opened to the public in January 1988. The museum is built on the basis of Wenfeng tower of Ming Dynasty, a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Henan Province. It covers an area of 14000 square meters and a building area of 5366 square meters. It was completed at the end of December 1987. The shape of the museum is novel and the style is unique. The exhibition hall in the exhibition area is two U-shaped symmetrical north and south, with three open courtyards connected by pavilions and corridors in the middle. The museum has a novel shape and unique style. Collection is the basis of the museum's business activities. In order to give full play to its due role, Xuchang Museum divides the 6304 cultural relics into 13 categories, namely pottery, porcelain, stele, calligraphy and painting, ancient books, bronze, coins, iron, stone tools, stone carvings, bricks and tiles, jade and miscellaneous. The collection with the characteristics of the museum is brick and tile, especially the medium-sized non hollow portrait brick. The collection of porcelain and bronze ware is also unique. The typical artifacts are: (1) the portrait brick of "shangrenma shitaicang". In the Han Dynasty, the brick is a long strip. On the right side of the picture, there is a palace gate and a que. Inside the palace gate, there is an official holding a halberd. Outside the que, there is an evergreen tree with a bird perched on it. On the left side, there is a cart and a horse driving. It is near the que gate. On the top of the cart and horse is the title list of "shangrenma shitaicang". (2) "Yangsui rich and auspicious" brick. In the Han Dynasty, the brick was long, with a double convex string pattern on one side and a seal character "Yang Sui Fu Gui Da Ji Li" in it. (3) Copper beryllium. During the Warring States period, the beryllium was short in body, narrow in front and sharp in edge. The wax was a long pointed triangle with the inscription "thirty son Han..." Flat stem. (4) Lotus mouth trumpet base white glaze bottle. In the Song Dynasty, the vase had a trumpet shaped lotus mouth, a slender neck, a bulging belly of the celestial sphere, a sub waist shaped trumpet ring foot, and white glaze all over the body. Xuchang Museum always adheres to the tenet of focusing on social benefits, tries every means to improve the conditions for running the museum, constantly changes the internal environment and improves the external service level. The precious cultural relics, rich exhibitions and beautiful environment attract a large number of visitors, especially teenagers, to visit and study in the museum every year. Xuchang Museum has become the "window of civilization" of Xuchang City and a beautiful scenery line of Xuchang city. It has been named as the excellent patriotism education base of Henan Province by Henan Provincial Administration of cultural relics.
Xuchang museum was established in July 1965, and it worked together with the Mass Art Museum of Xuchang area at that time. In 1985, he moved to Wenfeng Road of Xuchang City and officially opened to the outside world in January 1988. The building area of the original museum is 21000 square meters, with Xuchang Wenfeng tower in Ming Dynasty as the central axis, which is symmetrical in North and south. Wenfeng pagoda, also known as Wenming Temple Pagoda, is a state-level key cultural relic protection unit. It was built in the 43rd year of Wanli (1615 AD). The tower, 50.03 meters high, is octagonal with 13 storeys. It is the highest brick tower of Ming Dynasty in Henan Province.
Since its establishment, Xuchang Museum has gradually improved its organization, constantly strengthened its team building, and extensively carried out the collection, protection and research of cultural relics. There are more than 40000 important cultural relics in the museum, including ceramics, bronzes, coins, Han Dynasty portraits, bricks and stones. At the same time, we should make full use of these cultural relics for display publicity and social education, and constantly update the exhibition content and improve the exhibition taste according to the needs of the development of the times. We have successively held the exhibition of cultural relics of Han and Wei dynasties, the exhibition of historical documents of Xuchang, the exhibition of decorative art of Han portraits of Xuchang, the exhibition of tobacco of Xuchang, the exhibition of coins of Xuchang, and the painting and calligraphy of contemporary celebrities Chen Zhan and more than 300 temporary exhibitions have received more than 6 million visitors, making the audience, especially young people, not only receive profound education in historical materialism and patriotism, but also appreciate the glory of Xuchang's ancient regional civilization.
In May 2011, Xuchang Cultural Museum, which is composed of Museum, library and planning exhibition hall, was opened in Dongcheng District of Xuchang city. The overall building of the museum is 4 stories, 24 meters high, with a construction area of 53000 square meters. With its unique shape, heavy wall, imitating Chinese roof, light and transparent glass curtain wall, and strong contrast between the real and the virtual, it creates the spiritual temperament of a new era building, reflects the vigorous new Xuchang image, shows the unique cultural charm of Xuchang, and conveys the splendid history of Xuchang Historical civilization. Among the three museums, Xuchang Museum occupies the largest area of 22000 square meters, including 2600 square meters of warehouse, 2500 square meters of office area, 6000 square meters of exhibition hall, six basic exhibition halls and one multi-functional temporary exhibition hall.
Basic Display
Since the opening of the museum, the whole museum has made joint efforts, closely centering on the central work of each period, giving full play to the unique role of cultural relics in the construction of socialist spiritual civilization and patriotic education for young people, and actively producing and organizing various cultural relics exhibitions. Over the past 10 years, 115 exhibitions have been held, which basically include:
1、 Exhibition of historical relics of Han and Wei dynasties in Xudu. More than 100 production tools, living utensils, weapons and building components unearthed from Xuchang, the former capital of the Han and Wei dynasties, are displayed. Cao Cao, as a statesman, militarist and litterateur, has made great achievements in Xuchang, displayed his military strategy, recruited talents, cultivated land, fought in all directions, and finally achieved the goal of unifying the north.
2、 "Xuchang Han painting decorative art exhibition". There are more than 200 cultural relics on display, including more than 40 rubbings, including court hall, que Lou, chariot and horse travel, hunting, comet Hugger, halberd holder, dragon, tiger, Phoenix, owl, mascot, auspicious words and other portraits. They have a wide range of themes, different styles and strong decoration, which fully demonstrate the wisdom of our working people. 3. Xuchang Tobacco display. Xuchang is known as the "tobacco kingdom". Through a large number of objects and photos, this exhibition reproduces the history of tobacco planting and development in Xuchang.
4、 The display of Jun porcelain in Yuzhou. The Jun porcelains on display are simple and dignified in shape, delicate and dense in texture, and lustrous in glaze. It reflects that the level of porcelain making technology has reached a certain height.
5、 Contemporary celebrity painting and calligraphy exhibition. During the construction of the museum, Xuchang Museum has collected a large number of famous calligraphers and painters, including Zhen, Cao, Li and Zhuan calligraphers, landscapes, flowers and birds, and figure paintings, which fully demonstrates the charm of contemporary calligraphers and painters and promotes the prosperity of calligraphers and painters.
