details
On the front of the Baise Uprising monument is inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping: "the revolutionary martyrs of the Baise uprising will never die." on the back is the chronicle inscription of the Baise uprising. On both sides are two relief sculptures of Wei Baqun's peasant movement workshop when the fourth Guangxi Police Brigade led by Deng Xiaoping and Zhang Yunyi came to Baise. On the top of the monument is raised the words "1929: 1" It indicates the time of Baise uprising. The pedestal is surrounded by green pines and cypresses. In front of the monument, there is a square with more than 1000 square meters of green floor tiles for people to hold various commemorative activities. Since the Baise Uprising monument was built, thousands of people have come here to lay wreaths before and after the Qingming Festival every year, and thousands of primary and secondary school students have held patriotic education activities here. Why is the height of the monument 23.9 meters, not an integer? Why is the step from the foot of the mountain to the Monument Square 314? Why is the width of the steps 11 meters? As you may know, in the folk, since ancient times, "three, six, nine" has been regarded as a big number with a long meaning. Here, of course, people of all ethnic groups in Baise will always remember the great achievements of revolutionary martyrs. 314 comes from "π" in our mathematics, which means 3.14, implying that the revolutionary spirit of Baise will be handed down from generation to generation. The width of the steps is 11 meters, which represents the time of Baise Uprising: December 11, 1929, let's always remember the glorious day of "11" recorded in the history of revolution!
