Duodingshan Park

Duoding mountain is located at the west end of a series of East-West mountains between mianhuashan mountain in the north and Likou mountain in the south of Weihai. The east end is the Naigu mountain where huancuilou, the earliest scenic spot in Weihai, is located. It is said that duoding mountain didn't have a top at first. A Feng Shui gentleman said that there was no peak in the mountain. If there was a peak, there would be a champion in the village. So the rich gentry in the village organized the villagers to carry stones and soil, and built a mountain top, hence the name of the mountain.

Development history

After returning to China in 1906, he established Dongmou public school in Yantai as the contact point of the alliance. Three years later, Dongmou public school was banned. Yu Chunxuan founded a primary school in his village and a higher school in Hongzhi temple. He served as the director of Wendeng normal school and devoted himself to education.

In October 1909, he was elected a member of Shandong Advisory Bureau. After the Wuchang Uprising, Yu Chunxuan participated in the independence of Yantai. He was appointed by the Yantai revolutionary army government to lead the army to recover Wendeng and Rongcheng, and established the branch government of Wendeng and Rongcheng revolutionary army.

In December 1911, he was arrested by Rongcheng rioters in Shidao. In February 1912, 59 revolutionaries arrested with Wendeng died outside the west gate of the city. Think of the source by drinking water, and repay the kindness. The family members of their hometown spontaneously raised money and placed the statues in duodingshan park to welcome the spirits of the martyrs back to their hometown, so as to remember the martyrs and inspire the later generations.

Main attractions

University Forest

Duodingshan park is located in the east of the park entrance. The so-called ten years of trees, a hundred years of people. Education is the foundation of our country. In 2004, in the construction of duodingshan Park, donglaotai neighborhood committee decided to establish a "University Forest". Each student who was admitted to the University planted a tree and was responsible for its maintenance, so that each tree could grow and progress as well as his own studies. This practice of encouraging students to become useful and serve their hometown shows the foresight and extraordinary insight of the people in charge of donglaotai.

Statue of Yu Chunxuan

Duodingshan park is located in the east of the park. On the south side, there are more than ten steps and a 5-meter-square platform surrounded by stone railings. The center of the platform is Chunxuan. The half length bronze statue stands on the stone platform. The bronze statue is solemn and solemn, facing the front with two eyes. On the front is Yu Chunxuan (1879-1912), a martyr of the 1911 Revolution, and on the back is a brief account of Yu Chunxuan's deeds. The bronze statue, 1.2m high and 0.8m wide, was made by a famous professor of Shandong Art Institute in October 2006. Yu Chunxuan, whose ancestral home is donglaotai village, learned from childhood that studying is based on serving the country. He went to Japan in 1904 to study law and became the first member of the alliance in 1905.

Bunkers and air raid shelters

In the south of Huanshan Road on the north slope of duoding mountain, there are cement works with gate openings and reinforced concrete gates, which have been abandoned. In fact, we can cultivate mushrooms or store materials.
