Liukaiqu memorial hall is located in Xiangshan Park, Huaibei City, Anhui Province. It covers an area of 4977 square meters and is a rectangular courtyard composed of three parts.
The memorial hall was officially opened on April 5, 1995. In May 1995, Liu Kaiqu memorial hall was designated as the patriotic education base of Anhui Province.
Historical evolution
In 1990, Huaibei City decided to build "Kaiqu art garden" to collect and display precious historical pictures, manuscripts, letters and certificates of Liu Kaiqu's life, study and work.
In 1993, after Liu Kaiqu died of illness, "Kaiqu art garden" was renamed "Liu Kaiqu Memorial Hall".
In 1995, Liu Kaiqu memorial hall was built and opened to the outside world. Zhao Puchu, then vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, personally wrote the name of the memorial hall.
architectural composition
The memorial hall is a wall with brick columns and steel railings. On the east side of the wall is locust forest, on the west side is evergreen shrub forest, and on the north side of the wall is green pine and green Berlin. The square of 1150 square meters in front of the gate is surrounded by colorful flower beds. Liukaiqu memorial hall is an antique building with national characteristics. It adopts cast-in-place concrete frame structure, white glazed tile veneer, yellow glazed tile roof, and Tan glass doors and windows.
The memorial hall is built on the mountain of low south and high north. The rectangular courtyard is composed of three parts. The facade of the memorial hall is composed of two symmetrical bungalows and two two-story buildings. The exhibition hall is the middle of the four two-story buildings. There are coral hedges on both sides of the courtyard, green grass and red flowers dotted in the exhibition area.
The backyard is the master's mausoleum, with green pines and cypresses embracing the master Kaiqu's tombstone. On the semicircular tombstone, Zhao Puchu inscribed "the tomb of Liu Kaiqu, the master of sculpture by people's artists".
Display
The exhibition hall is a two-story building in the middle of the memorial hall. According to the quadrangle style, the south, north, East and West are respectively set up as a comprehensive exhibition hall and one, two and three exhibition halls.
In the exhibition hall, Liu Kaiqu's bust sculpture for Chairman Mao and congratulatory works by Li Tieying, the leader of the CPC Central Committee, celebrities from all walks of life at home and abroad, friends and celebrities in the painting and calligraphy circles are displayed. The first exhibition hall displays Liu Kaiqu's life experience; the second exhibition hall displays Liu Kaiqu's sculpture art photos, letters, awards, certificates and exquisite sculpture representative works; the third exhibition hall displays the signatures and photos of Qiao Shi, Li Ruihuan and other party and state leaders at the farewell ceremony of Liu Kaiqu heritage, as well as the relevant documents and information photos of the construction and management.

Liu Kaiqu (1904-1993) was born in Xiaoxian County, Jiangsu Province (now Xiaoxian County, Anhui Province). He is an outstanding contemporary Chinese people's artist, master of sculpture art, famous art educator and founder of China Art Museum.
