Wulong karst tourist area includes tianshengsanqiao, Xiannushan and Furong cave, which are three tourist attractions in Wulong, Chongqing. The three karst scenic spots have been successfully declared as world natural heritage sites. Tianshengsanqiao is located in the south of Xiannushan, between Xiannushan and Wulong County; Xiannushan is located in Xiannushan Town, Wulong County, Chongqing, in Wuling mountains in the east of Chongqing; Furong cave is located on the Bank of Furong River, 4km away from Jiangkou Town, Wulong county.

Located in Wulong District of Chongqing, Wulong karst tourist area has rare karst natural landscapes, including karst caves, Tiankeng, ground fissures, canyons, peak clusters, alpine grasslands, etc., with comprehensive forms, rich and colorful vacation, leisure, entertainment, sports, as well as unique folk customs of Tujia, Miao, Gelao and other ethnic minorities. In 2011, it was rated as a national AAAAA tourist area.

Wulong karst tourist area includes tianshengsanqiao, Xiannushan and Furong cave.

Historical evolution

In May 1993, Furong cave was discovered by five villagers in Jiangkou Town.

On May 1, 1994, Furong cave was officially opened to the public.

From 1994 to 2001, it has successively developed and formed five fine scenic spots, namely Furong cave, fairy mountain, Tiansheng Sanqiao, and ground fissure of Longshui gorge.

From 2003 to 2007, the international outdoor sports challenge was held in Wulong karst tourist area.

Climatic characteristics

Wulong karst is a subtropical monsoon humid climate with mild climate, abundant rainfall, insufficient sunshine, four distinct seasons, long frost free period and high humidity. The annual average sunshine is 1160.5 hours (the interannual variation is 1024.6-1276.6 hours); the annual average temperature is 17.9 ℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 41.7 ℃, and the extreme minimum temperature is minus 3.5 ℃

Main attractions

Furong River

Furong cave, the first cave in the world, is developed in Cambrian and Ordovician carbonate rocks. It is composed of tongqikeng cave, Huren cave, weijiangling cave, Dongba cave, xinlukou cave, shuilian cave, Furong cave, Gangan cave and Sifang cave. The cave is large in scale, and the secondary physical-chemical sediments are diverse and rich. The various dissolution forms of the cave, the spectacular collapse accumulation, the dazzling stalactites, the ponds in different situations at present, the falling and destruction of stalactites and so on all record its vicissitudes and historical evolution process. Professor Zhu Xuewen, a famous Chinese cave expert, commented that "from the scientific point of view, we can see the development of the cave In terms of scientific research and popularization, Furong cave can be called "a cave Science Museum".

Born Sanqiao

Tianshengsanqiao, a famous Tiankeng Sanqiao, is a rare geological wonder and ecological tourist area in China, which is a typical karst landform. Tianlong bridge, Qinglong bridge and Heilong bridge are the three majestic stone arch bridges in the scenic area, which are the largest group of Tiansheng bridges in Asia. Tianshengsan bridge is located at the junction of Baiguo Township and hetaoxiang Township, 20km southeast of Wulong district. Three tianshengsan stone arch bridges created by nature have the characteristics of male, strange, dangerous, beautiful, quiet and unique.

Ground fissure of Longshui Gorge

Wulong Dixie scenic spot is located in Xiannushan Town, Wulong District, 15 kilometers away from the county seat. It was formed by the orogeny tens of millions of years ago and belongs to the typical karst landscape. The canyon is 5 km long and 200-500 m deep. The Wulong ground fissure is composed of three sections: the entrance ground fissure, the midway through hole and the exit isthmus. Furong cave

Its shafts are the largest group of shafts found at home and abroad. Professor Zhu Xuewen, President of China cave Association, commented that "Furong cave is a splendid underground art palace and a cave science museum with rich contents", and tourists call it "the first cave in the world". On June 27, 2007, Furong cave, together with tianshengsanqiao and houpingqingkou Tiankeng scenic spots, was listed on the world natural heritage list, becoming the sixth World Natural Heritage in China and the first World Natural Heritage in Chongqing, as well as the only cave listed on the world natural heritage list in China.

Bigfoot fungus

It is smooth, non sticky and light naked. Its flesh is white and has sauce flavor. It can be used as medicine. Sheng is known as the "mountain treasure" king of fungi in Western European countries. Preserved pork with fern cake

Xiannushan delicacy Xianba bacon is a typical dish. Fern cake is made of fern. Pteridium aquilinum is a kind of pure natural wild plant. It is ground into starch by Pteridium aquilinum root, and then stirred with water. After clarification, the water is removed, and the precipitate (Pteridium aquilinum starch) is steamed or fried into blocks, which is called Pteridium aquilinum cake. Its color is black and yellow, its taste is waxy, soft and slightly astringent, but it has different general flavor. In 1958-1960, during the three-year difficult period in China, fern cake saved countless lives, but many people died on the way of digging ferns. After stir frying, fern cake will turn black. Traffic information

Self driving: Chongqing Chongqing Hunan Expressway (G65) - Wulong (128km); Chongqing Fuling Expressway (G50) - Wulong (National Highway 319 / Wujiang Gallery) (188km).

Non self driving: tourists can take a bus at Chongqing Nanping 4km bus station for 2 hours, or take a train at Chongqing longtousi railway station for 2.5 hours. From the county to the scenic spot, you can take the bus at Wulong bus station. (to tianshengsanqiao and the ground fissure of Longshui gorge, you need to buy a ticket for Xiannushan Town, get off at the tourist reception center, and then take the middle bus to the scenic spot. )

Tour route

On the first day, go to Chongqing Wulong district and stay in Wulong district at night.
