Anshan Museum belongs to Anshan Municipal Bureau of culture, radio, television, press and publication. It is a fully funded institution. Anshan Museum covers an area of about 10000 square meters, with a building area of 7400 square meters and an exhibition area of 3800 square meters. The shape of the museum is an antique building with grey bricks and tiles. It has four basic exhibition halls and a multi-function hall, warehouse, office area and leisure area. There are more than ten thousand pieces of cultural relics in the collection, including nearly one thousand pieces of national level three or above precious cultural relics, including 11 categories of ceramics, bronzes, calligraphy and painting, wood furniture, jade, lacquerware, gold and silver ware, and ancient coins.

Development history

In the 1950s, Anshan cultural relics station was established.

In 1983, Anshan cultural relic station was transformed into Anshan Museum and was officially established.

In October 2007, the municipal government decided to rebuild Yurun Yuzun on the north side of yufoyuan as the new site of the Municipal Museum.

On July 29, 2010, the museum moved to the new site of yufoyuan scenic spot; on August 1, it opened for trial operation; on September 20, it was officially open to the public free of charge.

Anshan local history exhibition hall

The exhibition hall of Anshan local history is based on tens of thousands of cultural relics unearthed and collected in Anshan area over the years, including the Neolithic Xiuyan Beigou site, the Bronze Age Haicheng Jiemu stone shed, the Warring States Shahe site, the Liao Jin xi'anshan mining site, the Ming Anshan Yipu, the Qing Dynasty Haicheng huangwa kiln and other cultural relics The chronological sequence of mountain culture shows the historical and cultural development of Anshan.

Iron smelting exhibition hall

The exhibition hall introduces the history of iron smelting industry with unearthed ironware, pictures and models of modern Angang development as exhibits.

Jade culture exhibition hall

The exhibition hall, through in-depth excavation of Xiuyan Jade history, shows Xiuyan Jade elegant demeanor, carries forward Xiuyan Jade Culture, and makes the world know and love Xiuyan Jade.

Collection exhibition hall

With the collection of official kiln porcelain and Ming and Qing palace furniture as the exhibition contents, the exhibition hall gathers the blue and white, multicolored, famille rose and other porcelain products allocated from the Forbidden City of Beijing and Shenyang in the 1970s, as well as the palace furniture of throne, tiaozan, flower table and lacquerware.

A dream of the Han Dynasty

Exhibition period: May 2015

Introduction to the exhibition: about 200 sets of cultural relics and more than 50 auxiliary display boards are exhibited in the exhibition, covering the Han Dynasty and the Han Dynasty. The focus is on the excavation of the Han Tombs in Shahe Dongdi, Datun, Sifangtai village, Lishan Park, Diaojuntai and yangcaozhuang, as well as the unearthed burial objects. The exhibition shows the spirit world of Anshan ancestors in Han Dynasty and the custom of treating death as life.

"Beautiful Anshan"

Exhibition period: December 27, 2013 - January 3, 2014

Introduction to the exhibition: there are 121 calligraphy and painting works in the exhibition, of which 48 won prizes, showing the magnificent natural landscape and colorful urban and rural life of Anshan in an all-round way. At the same time, it also shows the artistic achievements of artists' hard work.

The shape of the museum is antique building, gray brick, simple and elegant, grand momentum.

There are 79 groups of display cabinets, 18 sand tables, 1 relief, 3 panoramic paintings and light boxes. The comprehensive design of cultural relics exhibition hall area costs 2500 yuan per square meter, and the key parts need to use acousto-optic and 3D video methods to provide display effect.

Scientific research achievements

Anshan Museum organized the compilation of Archaeology · Anshan

"Anshan City Museum collection", "history of Anshan", "Anshan history and Culture Series", "Anshan epitaph" and other books.

In 2007, Anshan Museum cooperated with Institute of paleovertebrae and Paleoanthropology of Chinese Academy of Sciences to complete the excavation and research of Xianrendong Paleolithic site in Xiaogushan, Haicheng.

In 2008, Anshan Museum and Beijing Palace Museum jointly applied for the project of "Research on scientific disclosure of glass making technology of huangwa kiln and establishment of multimedia digital display platform", which was listed as the special pilot project of compass plan of State Administration of cultural relics.
