Facing south, the temple is divided into three parts: the first part is the King Kong hall, the second part is the Mahatma hall, and the third part is the Sutra library.
brief introduction
After its construction in 1947, it was called the "ancient Kouchi Temple" and was inscribed by Liu houwu, the inspector of Guangdong and Guangxi. From 1987 to 2003, abbot Shi Hongsheng raised huge funds to rebuild and expand the east courtyard. The temple is famous for its magnificent scale, the holy land of Hanyu's Great Britain meeting, the garrison of Nanchang Uprising military division on August 1, and the rare imitation of Tang Dynasty architecture.
According to Han Jiang Ji written by Dachuan of Fenglin in the Qing Dynasty, "Kouchi nunnery is on the left of Chengnan academy, that is, where Han Changli lived in dadianzhi county.". On the forehead of Da Dian hall in an'nei, the four characters "smart, great and profound" were written. There are two ancient Banyans in front of the steps. They are not fake soil. They are born on the stone in front of the steps. They are black iron
Color, extremely ancient, is said to have hundreds of years of history. Zhou Dunyi, the judge of Guangdong transportation in Song Dynasty, said on the wall of the hall: "if you go back, you will say that you are like a master. If you slander and repel the Buddhists and the non Buddhists in the original way, and you don't know what the Great Britain looks like, you should treasure your clothes more in books.".
origin
It is said that in the first month of the 14th year of Yuanhe (819), Han Yu was demoted to Chaozhou as an emissary because he angered the emperor Xianzong for admonishing the Buddha. On the day of arriving at the state government, the subordinate officials and the people of the whole city were welcome. Han Yu was very excited to see that the people were so enthusiastic. Suddenly a monk in front of him came to his horse. He Shangben was also handsome and burly, with a square face and a broad forehead. He looked very talented from a distance, but he was scared when he came near. It turned out that he had two big teeth, which suddenly looked like a ferocious arhat in the temple. Han Yu was not happy, but the officials didn't stop him. As an assassin, he would lose his identity if he scolded. So he had to bear it and thought, "this man must be an evil monk. If he fooled the people, he must pull out his two big teeth." When he arrived at the prefect's residence, Han Yu asked the monk where he came from. He knew that he was a great monk in Jisheng nunnery, with complete merits and powerful magic power. (it is said that monk Da Dian is the abbot of Lingshan temple, guanjisheng temple and Lingshan Temple).
The next day, as soon as Han Yu went up to handle state affairs, his attendant presented a small bag of things, saying that it was sent by monk Da Dian. When Han Yu opened it, it turned out that it was two big teeth, and another piece of advocation was written in a thick and dignified style. It said, "Confucianism is based on benevolence, and Buddhism also helps all living beings.". Different ways and different purposes are the same, and we will be on the edge of the island. " This made Han Yu confused: "this monk is really a God. He can know me well." Guilt ground says: "I only by appearance rashly to a person's conclusion, wrong song good person, really should not." So he wrote "Kouchi Temple" in the hall and ordered people to send him to Jisheng temple. But monk Da Dian had already gone to Lingshan temple in Chaoyang. Since then, Jisheng temple has been renamed "Kouchi Temple".
Later, Han Yu wrote letters to Da Dian many times, visited each other, and formed deep friendship. A few months later, Han Yu stabbed Yuanzhou instead. When he left, he made a special trip to Lingshan temple to say goodbye to Da Dian and presented his clothes to express his feelings of parting. Da diante built a "clothes Pavilion" in front of Lingshan mountain to show his memory.
