Culture
Confucian temple is a recreational place full of strong cultural atmosphere in Tumen street, which makes people who are tired of work find a rare comfort and tranquility here. Maybe it's because I grew up in Tumen street that I don't understand this Tumen street which has experienced thousands of years and is still ancient. Although Tumen street has been transformed, it still retains its unique Minnan style which integrates Chinese and Western architectural culture. Today, walking along Tumen street, you can still feel the ancient charm of the street. Today's Confucian temple is no longer the "Confucius Temple" with a lot of books, but a large cultural square with 15000 square meters of leisure space.
This is Tumen street, a thousand year old street with strong cultural accumulation and integrated Chinese and Western architectural culture. Now it plays a unique environmental advantage and injects vitality into the prosperity of modern commerce.
Main attractions
To a certain extent, the architectural style of Tumen Street reflects the prosperity of Quanzhou in the song and Yuan Dynasties. As long as they are willing, the talkative old Quanzhou people will tell the tourists the implication of the architectural style of this street.
The chessboard garden in Tumen street is a place that old people like to talk about. It is said that chessboard garden is a chessboard played by real people. In the Ming Dynasty, a foreigner was appointed as a vassal and was responsible for the administration of Southern Fujian. Chessboard garden was the palace of the vassal's residence. In his spare time, the vassal King sat in the Siqi Pavilion and played chess with others. He ordered 32 beauties to stand in the chessboard garden, dressed in red and black dresses, with dustpan on each person's head, and the words "soldiers, chariots and soldiers" were written respectively to act as "chess pieces". These beauties walk under the command of the people in Siqi's attic to show the host's ostentation and style. The thirty-two girls are usually arranged to sleep in thirty-two attics, so the place is called "thirty-two rooms". This kind of palace style architecture has been handed down.
Dongguanxitai used to be the residence of Wu Lu, the number one scholar in Quanzhou in Qing Dynasty, while Zulu Su, another "bungalow", is an ancient residence formed after the fourth year of Yuan Dynasty by the descendants of Su Song, a famous statesman in Northern Song Dynasty. These buildings have unique cultural connotations, and the different styles are organically integrated, which together witness the prosperity of Tumen street in ancient times.
After the transformation, Tumen Street inherits the style of Quanzhou Minnan ancient architecture, and its organic combination with modern architecture makes Tumen street full of vitality. Due to the long history of Tumen street, the integration of Confucius Confucian temple, tonghuai guanyue temple and Qingjing temple as an urban tourism and cultural center, as well as the high-density distribution of various industries dominated by fashion and the dense flow of people and vehicles, Tumen street has been given the reputation of "emperor Commercial Street".
