China rare newspaper exhibition hall
The exhibition hall of China's rare newspapers is located in the prosperous area of Ming and Qing streets in Pingyao ancient city. The building preserves the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is antique and has carved beams and painted buildings with a total investment of more than 2 million yuan.
There are more than 60000 kinds of newspapers and more than 1.1 million copies in the collection. The collection of newspapers and periodicals has been recorded in the Guinness Book of records in the world. There are famous national rare newspapers in the Qing Dynasty, a series of newspapers and periodicals during the cultural revolution in the 1950s, major current affairs newspapers in Shanxi and the whole country, newspapers of some countries, and newspapers and periodicals of ethnic minorities. The most special newspapers are the oversized newspaper and the smallest newspaper; the newspaper with the shortest circulation time; the palm newspaper, postcard newspaper, business card newspaper, silk newspaper, cigarette label newspaper, umbrella newspaper and fan newspaper. The most unique is the smallest newspaper, Jiangnan travel, which is the first smallest full-color Mini newspaper. It commemorates world tourism day on September 27 and China tourism year in 1997. It has been listed in the record book of "Guinness of the world". The museum has 10 exhibition halls, including picture inscription hall, Pingyao hall, Shanxi hall, turn of the Century Hall, Hong Kong and Macao hall, etc.
