Zhongshan film and Television City, located next to Sun Yat Sen's former residence in Cuiheng village, Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, is a large comprehensive tourist area integrating tourism, patriotism education, film and television shooting and other functions

Zhongshan film and television city is composed of five parts: Chinese scenic area, Japanese scenic area, British scenic area, American scenic area and exhibition hall area. Covering an area of 1 million square meters, it is a complex of buildings built on the basis of Dr. Sun Yat Sen's revolutionary footprints and the memorial sites of his revolutionary activities in China and around the world

Evolution of construction

In 2001, Sun Yat Sen, a TV series, was selected for shooting and invested 150 million yuan by Zhongshan Municipal People's government. On March 18, after the shooting of Sun Yat Sen, Zhongshan film and television city was officially opened to tourists

. From August 29 to October 9, the hardening construction of the front pavement of Zhongshan film and television city scenic area was completed

Since 2002, Zhongshan film and television city has been promoted to the outside world. In the same year, Zhongshan film and television city participated in the Shanghai film and Television Festival.

In May 2015, Zhongshan film and Television City, Sun Yat Sen's Former Residence Memorial Hall, Cuiheng village, 1911 revolution memorial park, and plough hill formed the Zhongshan hometown tourist area, and submitted the feasibility analysis and request for instructions to create a national AAAAA tourist area. In June, the executive meeting of Zhongshan municipal government studied the related work of national AAAAA scenic spots. In July, we started the construction of national AAAAA tourist attractions, and established the Management Committee of Sun Yat Sen's hometown tourist area to take charge of the rectification and improvement of the construction of scenic spots

In August, we completed the formulation of the work plan and plan for the establishment of the national AAAAA scenic spot, started the planning and evaluation of the scenic spot promotion, and invited experts and consultants to make a preliminary evaluation of the scenic spot. In September, Zhongshan municipal Party committee held an on-the-spot work meeting to study the core issues and mobilize the construction of national AAAAA tourist attractions. In October, the rectification and improvement plan for the establishment of national AAAAA tourist attractions entered the preparation stage, and the work task breakdown table was initially drawn up. In November, leaders of Zhongshan city went to Beijing to report the progress of the project. From November 18 to 19, it passed the evaluation of the national AAAAA scenic spot resources and landscape quality experts

In July 2016, Sun Yat Sen film and television city launched the "infrastructure construction project of Sun Yat Sen's hometown tourist area - greening and upgrading scheme of tourist center square and Cuiheng Avenue", planning to build a 10000 square meter tourist center square at the square in front of the gate of Sun Yat Sen film and television city

The street is more than 80 meters long, with oriental style. The former residence of Sun Yat sen in Japan, the party headquarters of the Chinese revolutionary party in Japan, the residence of Liao Zhongkai and He Xiangning in Japan, the main hall of the Japanese shrine and the residence of Meiwu Zhuangji in Japan are more than 10 scenic spots in the scenic spots, which reflect the difficult and tortuous revolutionary career of Sun Yat sen in Japan. American West Street is designed in the style of wooden corridor, with small cobble square and water tower. It reflects Sun Yat Sen's life in the United States. There are more than 10 scenic spots in the United States, such as Sun Yat Sen's residence in New York City, Manhattan shopping mall, American Chinatown hall and so on. These are the places where Dr. Sun Yat Sen often stayed in those years, reflecting the history of Dr. Sun Yat Sen's exile to the United States after the failure of Guangzhou Uprising, propagating revolutionary ideas and raising revolutionary funds among the local overseas Chinese in the United States.

British scenic spots

The British scenic spot, located at the westernmost end of Zhongshan film and Television City, is composed of British buildings, stone streets and European gardens. It reflects Dr. Sun Yat Sen's revolutionary footprints in England. There are more than 10 scenic spots in the scenic area, such as London police station, the Qing Embassy in Britain and so on. It reproduces the history of Dr. Sun Yat Sen's suffering in England. Due to the needs of film and television shooting set, a number of scenes with film and television shooting function have been restored in this scenic spot according to the actual scene, such as the residence of the three sisters of Song family in Shanghai, the place where Sun Yat Sen was killed in London, etc

Exhibition area

The exhibition area is located on both sides of the main entrance of the scenic spot, with Zhongshan modern celebrity hall, Xinhai revolution historical picture exhibition hall, Zhongshan warship historical exhibition hall and TV drama "Sun Yat Sen" stills exhibition hall. Each pavilion takes the scene display as the design point, and comprehensively and systematically introduces the process of Chinese national and democratic revolution led by Dr. Sun Yat Sen through words, pictures and objects.
