Song Wenzhi Art Museum
Song Wenzhi art museum is located at No.12, Xianfu East Street, Taicang City, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It covers an area of 1428 square meters, with a total construction area of 536 square meters. It is a public welfare institution for the whole people, with four full-time staff. Mr. Song Wenzhi, with both virtue and art, is unique. His artistic achievements are well-known at home and abroad, and the people of Taicang are proud of him. In order to carry forward the noble character of the master and the spirit of dedicating to art, Taicang Municipal People's government funded the construction in 1989.

Song Wenzhi Art Museum covers an area of about 2 mu and 5 fen, 1428 square meters, with a total construction area of 536 square meters
It is composed of two parts: Art Museum and songshizhai studio. It is designed by Lu Shaoyi, an engineer. Song Wenzhi personally participated in the design of the style. The Museum of art is a north-south, 15 rooms, with a building area of 396 square meters. The natural marble carving of "Song Wenzhi Art Museum" written by Xie zhiliu is embedded in the front of the door. Through the front of the door, the courtyard is small and winding, and the layout is elegant. The white marble statue of Mr. Song Wenzhi is located between Jiamu and Xiuzhu for visitors to admire. The main body of the museum is a two-story building with green tiles and pink walls. It is simple, elegant and small. There are ten rooms and four exhibition halls. There are 60 representative works of song Wenzhi on display in the second Hall downstairs, which were created by song Wenzhi from 1940s to 1980s. There will be 30 masterpieces of calligraphy and painting donated by Professor Song in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including rare collections of Ming and Qing painters Wen Zhengming, Dong Qichang, Cha Shibiao, Zheng Banqiao, Huang Shen, etc. More than 30 pieces of precious cultural relics and the artistic achievements of song Wenzhi were unearthed. At the same time, it also collected a number of masterpieces of calligraphy and paintings and ancient pottery relics presented to his hometown by his eldest son song Yulin after the death of Mr. Song Wenzhi according to his father's will. There is a 40 square meter activity room in front of the door. There are corridors, vine walls and green banana windows in front of the door. It is a place for academic exchanges, cultural activities, cultural groups of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference and activities of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. Songshizhai
Songshizhai is a quiet courtyard with sparse flowers and trees. It is one foot wide from north to South and three feet long from east to west. In the courtyard, the ancient pines embrace each other and the strange stones accompany each other. All kinds of bonsai with peculiar shapes are placed on the steps at random. Songshizhai, this is the Zhai number of song Wenzhi's residence. Blue and white tile windows, with national characteristics of antique buildings (bungalows), typical Jiangnan dwellings, building area of 132 square meters. The three characters "songshizhai" written by Mr. Tang Yun are inlaid on the wall of the hall. There are living room, studio, living room and kitchen, which is very suitable for living. After 1995, song Wenzhi often came here to rest, create and meet visitors. The last years of song Wenzhi's old age were spent in the shadow of pine shade and banana in this small courtyard. There is also a service department on the east side of the gate, which will provide services such as calligraphy and painting, handicrafts and four treasures of the study.

Apart from being open to the outside world all the year round, song Wenzhi art museum also carries out academic research, calligraphy and painting exchange, and talent training. Over the past 20 years, the museum has held more than 70 exhibitions of calligraphy and painting, including Zhu Qizhan's centenary painting exhibition. He has received Peng Chong, Wang Guangying and other state leaders, Hua Junwu, Tang Yun, Yaming and many other calligraphers and friends at home and abroad, with tens of thousands of visitors. Li Ruihuan, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, wrote an inscription for the song Wenzhi Art Museum: "the beautiful mountains and rivers of the motherland make painting more glorious.". At the 14th Chinese painting and calligraphy Museum Association, song Wenzhi art museum was elected as the advanced unit of 2009 Chinese painting and calligraphy Museum by the highest vote. Song Wenzhi art museum also won the honor of "excellent Museum newspaper" after the expert evaluation organized by the Third Yangtze River Delta Art Museum. Song Wenzhi art museum is not only an important window of Taicang's socialist spiritual civilization, but also one of Taicang's Cultural Tourism Landscapes with rich connotation.

Song Wenzhi (1919-1999)
)Born in September 1919 in Chengxiang Town, Taicang County, Jiangsu Province, Mr. Chen graduated from Taicang City primary school and then entered Suzhou Academy of fine arts. He has been engaged in art education in Taicang and Anting for 16 years. During this period, he used his spare time to study the techniques of Chinese landscape painting. At the beginning of his career, he started with the "Mustard garden painting manual" and the "four kings" in the early Qing Dynasty, with exquisite brush and ink and elegant taste. Then he went back to the Ming, yuan and Song Dynasties, and also learned from the north and south. He was once instructed by Zhu Qizhan and Lu Yanshao, and learned painting from Zhang Shiyuan and Wu Hufan. He saw a large number of masterpieces and imitated them. Especially after the liberation, he began to carry his portfolio to nature, to learn from nature, to further integrate various methods, to explore the performance of the new era with traditional brush and ink, and to create a large number of landscape paintings that eulogize the motherland's mountains and rivers, belong to himself, and integrate the characteristics of the new era and modern people's feelings. In 1956, his famous work "rafting on the Tongjiang River" came to the fore. Influenced by the Qing monk Shi Tao's thought of "painting should follow the times", he used "new wine in old bottles" in a specific painting context to create excellent works with the flavor of the times such as "great changes in mountains and rivers", and his personal painting style also changed. After that, he continued to extend his hand to tradition and life, touring famous mountains and rivers, learning from nature outside and learning from heart inside. He constantly honed his brush and ink, expanded his vision of painting, and continued to express the style of the times with traditional freehand brushwork, thus his painting became more and more famous.

Song Wenzhi vividly depicts Huangshan, Lushan and Yangtze River with his elegant and unique aesthetic concept and brushwork. His works are elaborately conceived, vigorous and concise, fresh and elegant, magnificent and profound. In particular, his Jiangnan style paintings are unique because of their beauty, elegance and personality. Since the 1980s, influenced by the painting style of splashing ink and color, song Wenzhi, drawing lessons from the painting methods of green landscape, light purple landscape and Western watercolor, boldly denied himself, once again opened up thinking and change, further refined the new painting language, and made every effort to explore the new way of Chinese painting in the future. Finally, a new style of boneless splashing color landscape painting appeared in the world. He boldly integrated the techniques of color splashing, streaking and trace extension with the traditional ink such as gouge, texturing, rubbing and dot. His painting procedure is just opposite to the technique of ink painting. He put pen first, applied ink in color, and added "making" techniques to his painting, which vividly expressed the objective nature. At the same time, it also showed his skills of controlling ink and enriching the changes It has once again aroused the close attention of the Chinese painting circle. He was also known as one of the "eight contemporary landscape painters". Because he liked to paint the soft, ethereal, fresh and beautiful scenery of Jiangnan Water Town, he got the nickname of "Song Taihu Lake", which further continued and developed the modern landscape painting style of "Jinling school".
