Zhaishan tunnel

Zhaishan tunnel

Zhaishan tunnel is located in the inner part of Zhaishan in the southeast of gugang lake, gugang village, Jinmen County, Fujian Province. It was excavated in 1961 and took five years. It was completed on March 22, 1966. Originally, it was mainly used for the turning of landing boats and the transportation of personnel and materials. Later, due to the decline of the function of the island, it was abandoned in 1986. The Management Office of Jinmen national park took over the maintenance in 1997. It was officially opened to the public for sightseeing in 1998 and became an important tourist spot in Jinmen county.
