Duojizha Temple

The famous monastery of Tibetan Buddhism is one of the six Nyingma sects. "Duoji" means "King Kong" and "Zha" means "Shishan". The name of the temple is derived from the figure of natural Vajra on the back mountain, which is translated as "dojizha Temple". Duojizha temple, the full name of tudengduojizha temple.

Creation time

In the late 16th century, it was built by Qiangda zhaxidujie, a famous Lama of Ningma sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is the temple of renzengqinbo after the second renzengqinbo anggwangbo. The temple is one of the important temples of Ningma sect in Tibet, which is as famous as minzhulin temple. During the invasion of Tibet by the army of Junggar in 1718, the monasteries were seriously damaged. Later, they were rebuilt and flourished. The monasteries spread throughout the whole Tibetan area, and their religious flow has been handed down to the present day.

The teaching method of practice

The temple attaches equal importance to both Buddhism and esoteric Buddhism. The Buddhist language department of Ningma sect inherits the teaching methods from afar and forms its own school. The Department of Fu Zang mainly focuses on the northern transmission of Fu Zang, and also works on the Fu Zang of Baima liezhya, jiaxiangchong, Qiangda zaxidujie and other Tibetans. It has more than 50 volumes. The Department of Jing Xiang is specialized in the Jing Xiang Mi Dharma of the fifth Dalai Lama and the fifth renzengqinbo.

Duojizha temple is one of the main temples of Ningma sect in qianzang. Ningma sect is the oldest sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The current Temple leader is the living Buddha renzengqinmo dojieza jiangbailuosang, vice chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region Political Consultative Conference and vice chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Association. Dojizha Temple mainly teaches the northern Tibetan system, and also teaches some Buddhist classics since sansur. An important part of Ningma school's Classics is Fu Zang, which is excavated from caves or underground. About the 12th century, the Ningma school had appeared in succession the excavation of hidden people, they are known as dedun. Among them, the famous one is Niang nimavise, whose excavation is called the upper one, and the one by Guru qujiqiu is called the lower one. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the tattenarimba who excavated the Fu Zang collected the upper and lower Fu Zang and the Fu Zang he excavated together for engraving, which was called South Zang. In the early 16th century, renzeng dungiden qujianzan, a noble son of riwuzhasang, ANGREN County, later Zang, excavated a lot of Fu Zang and engraved them, which was called North Zang. There were many classics in North Zang that were not found in the original classics and Fu Zang Some of them, such as kanzhuo ningti, are about the inheritance of Ningma school, medicine, and the history of Tubo Dynasty. Among them, the more famous ones are wubu Yijiao and lianhuasheng Yijiao, which have certain reference value for the study of Tubo history. The dojizha Temple specially propagates the esoteric Sutras of the northern Tibetan system, and recognizes renzengqinmo dunjidengqujianzan as the first living Buddha of the temple.

As a religious sect, Ningma sect, unlike other religious sects such as Sakya and Gaju, has always had a central temple. However, Ningma sect is decentralized and does not have a close relationship with local forces like other religious sects. Although the Ningma faction established contact with the central government in the Yuan Dynasty, it did not form a stable Temple group because of its lax organization and single line inheritance. It was not until the 16th century that a large-scale Ningma monastery appeared in qianzang. In particular, thanks to the support of the fifth Dalai Lama in the 17th century, the Ningma sect had a significant expansion in the two famous monasteries in qianzang (i.e. minzhulin monastery and dojiza monastery). The fifth Dalai Lama also built a monastery (nanjielin monastery) to spread the Ningma sect's teachings. In 1718, the Mongolian army of Junggar invaded Tibet, the dojiza temple was destroyed, and the temple owner renzengqinmo baimachaile living Buddha and others were killed. Later, the restoration was funded by the local government of polonai. During the cultural revolution, it was destroyed again. In 1984, the government allocated special funds to repair it. Now there are 23 lamas.

The statues of gods worshipped in duojizha temple are unique, mainly including the five parts of the world that are necessary for the cultivation of Buddhism, Manjusri, lotus and truth that represent the body meaning, manna and Vajra pegs that represent merit and career, and the three parts of the world are to send non-human, ferocious curses and praise the world gods. Non human was originally the evil god in the Tibetan religion. After being called Mamo in Tibetan, it was absorbed by the Ningma sect as the Dharma protector. Its image is depicted as a black ugly and angry woman, half naked, wizened breasts, lumped hair braids; typical weapons are epidemic pocket, ghost card, black rope cover and magic thread ball. The most famous goddess of Dharma protection is bandaram, who is the leader of all the mamos.
