Yuxiang yarn factory is a well preserved old industrial site in Changsha, which has a history of 100 years. Due to a disaster known as "Wenxi fire" and the modernization project, the current Yuxiang yarn factory is only a row of western style houses in the period of the Republic of China rebuilt on the original site, and the interior is not open.
As a result, it's lonely and desolate, just like abandoned buildings, with few tourists, even taxi drivers don't know its existence. But isn't that what people who love photography enjoy? Under the quiet, you can do whatever you want, shooting or classical or nostalgic, whatever you want. Among them, the light yellow gatehouse is the most eye-catching one. It is a triumphal arch style building, with a five pointed star embedded in the center of the beam on the top of the door.
There will be local people playing in the sun on the lawn. You can also see the yinpenling bridge from afar. It's beautiful when the lights are on at night. You can take a walk along the riverbank. However, it is far away from the urban area and inconvenient for transportation. If time is short, it is not recommended to go there.

.
Founding history
In 1912, the revolution of 1911 set off. Wu zuolin, a counsellor of the governor's office of Hunan Province, put forward the idea of "suffering from the flood of foreign goods and the poverty of the people" and applied for the establishment of a cotton mill. Later, Wu zuolin raised money from the financial secretary, bought land in yinpenling to build a factory, and ordered Amway's spinning frames, German businessmen's generators, motors, etc. to produce "Junshan" and "Yuelu" brand cotton yarn, which sold well both inside and outside the province. In 1913, it was renamed Hunan No.1 yarn mill.
After more than ten years of efforts, the scale of the mill has been growing and its reputation in the industry has been further enhanced. In 1938, a "Wenxi fire" destroyed part of the original plant, machinery and equipment, and the plant was forced to move to Anjiang Town, Qianyang County, Huaihua City.
In October 1943, Hunan provincial government, Hunan first textile factory and other units jointly invested to form Sanxiang Textile Co., Ltd. In 1948, the company passed various resolutions and finally decided to rebuild the former site of Hunan No.1 textile factory in yinpenling, which was officially put into operation on New Year's day the next year. In the heyday of light industry, the original Hunan first textile factory was renamed Yuxiang textile factory.
Building construction
In 1938, most of the equipment and factories of Yuxiang cotton mill were destroyed in the "Wenxi fire". In 2009, the Changsha municipal government spent tens of millions of yuan to rebuild the old gate building and some of the buildings of Yuxiang yarn factory, and opened them to the public as a scenic spot. The Changsha government said that it will further explore its profound historical and cultural connotation and unique architectural art style to create a high-quality landmark tourism and Leisure Spot in Changsha.
