Jiwei mainly feeds Jiwei shrimp. Nanshengwei used to be a lot of Kiwai, fish pond and agricultural land, but most of the villagers set up small wooden houses beside the pond. However, since the mid-1990s, with the rapid development of Yuen Long, nanshengwei has not been spared in the process of urbanization. There is an island at the intersection of Jintian River and Shanbei River, just like a bird paradise. Because when the water recedes, there are many migratory birds, especially black faced Spoonbill, near the mudflat of the island.

The origin of the name

In early November 2003, there was a small bay crocodile in nanshengwei. For the sake of public safety, the Hong Kong government invited Australian "Mr. crocodile" John leaf and Panyu crocodile expert "crocodile Zhao" to capture it, which aroused the curiosity of the public and made the public pay attention to this place. Later, the alligator was named "Beibei" and was sent to Hong Kong Wetland Park for breeding and sightseeing.

You can take bus 76k at Yuen Long Road, cross Pok Oi Hospital and get off at the bus stop near the bottom of route 3 / West Rail flyover.

1) nanshengwei Road [intersection]: there is Cailan not far from the intersection, and then there is the grand route 3 bridge / pontoon view.

2) double lane [turn to single lane] intersection: walk from the intersection {1} to this place, about 15-20 minutes. On the left, there is a fish pond scene. When the water level is low, there are some migratory birds foraging in the river from time to time.

(3) Luohe exit (red iron bar): there are many mangroves, birds and Shenzhen high-rise buildings in the beginning, which is very good. There is an estuary in front of the red iron fence. If you have plenty of time, you can stay in zone 3, 4 and 5 for a long time, waiting to enjoy every move of the migratory birds, such as waiting for the little fish's silly and choking look, flying close to the river with their wings and shadows. It is also suggested that you carefully climb the stone steps beside the road, overlook the other side and look around to give you a relaxed and happy feeling. Mangrove

In fact, these hypocotyls are some developed seeds of Kandelia candel. When they leave the mother tree, they can be directly inserted into the soft mud of the river bed to grow. Because they have already absorbed sufficient nutrition from the mother tree, they can quickly grow young roots, gradually firmly grasp the soft wet mud, and expand another interesting world.

Riverside habitat
