Master Hongyi memorial hall is located in Zunsheng temple, Kaiyuan Temple, Licheng District, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. It lists the historical materials, photos, works and ink treasures of master Hongyi (Li Shutong), one of the pioneers of China's new culture movement and a modern eminent monk, who lived in Quanzhou in the last 14 years of his life.

After the death of master Hongyi, his remains were buried in Qingyuan mountain in Quanzhou and Hupao temple in Hangzhou.
Personal introduction
Master Hongyi (1880-1942), commonly known as Li Shutong, was born in Pinghu, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. He was born in Tianjin, an art educator and an eminent monk. Hongyi, a master of "twenty articles startling the world", is full of talent. He combines poetry, CI, calligraphy and painting, seal cutting, music, drama and literature. He has been a pioneer in many fields of culture and art. Lu Xun, Guo Moruo and other cultural celebrities are proud to get a master's calligraphy. He is also the first person to spread western music to China. His farewell song has become a classic after decades of singing. At the same time, he is also the first teacher to create human body sketching in the field of Chinese painting. His outstanding artistic attainments have cultivated some cultural celebrities, such as painter Feng Zikai and musician Liu Zhiping. After his prosperous youth, master Hongyi became a monk in Hupao Temple of Hangzhou in 1918 and began a simple life of assiduous study of Buddhism and temperament. He was regarded as the eleventh generation ancestor of the law school by Buddhist disciples. Master Hongyi's life is full of legendary color. He is a typical figure from gorgeous to plain. Master Taixu once wrote a gift: to seal the heart with teaching, to discipline the body with law, to be pure inside and outside, and to be the cause of Bodhi. Mr. Zhao Puchu's evaluation of the master's life is: endless treasures for the eyes of the world, a full moon shining heaven's heart.
