Liugong Village

Liugong village is located on the Bank of the lower reaches of the Lijiang River. It belongs to Puyi township of Yangshuo and has a history of more than 350 years. In the past when land transportation was underdeveloped, all kinds of goods circulation could only be realized by Lijiang River waterway. Therefore, Liugong village used to be a gathering place for merchants and commodity exchange.

General situation of the village

Now Liugong ancient ferry still exists. The past prosperity of Liugong village can only be found on the brick walls of ancient buildings. The houses here are full of the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties. During the northern expedition, Dr. Sun Yat Sen led his troops up the river. Abandon the boat to land, and climb up the smooth bluestone steps. When you look up, you can see an antique square building with three simple characters on it: Deyue tower. According to the local residents, it used to be a stage. During the Spring Festival, the residents on the other side would take ferries to Liugong to watch GUI opera. This shows the prosperity of Liugong in the past. Deyue building was built in the Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty. It is divided into three layers. The first layer is an arch about three meters wide and nearly four meters high, which serves as an aisle. Those who go to Liugong by boat must enter the village through this passage. There's been another passage. The second floor is closed. Open the window to breathe. There are cornices at the four corners. Because of the long history, moss and wild ginger have grown on the tile back, which are swaying with the wind. Upstairs is the four corner Pavilion. It is surrounded by wooden railings. The pavilion is a wooden structure, with four thin wooden columns supporting a heavy roof with complex technology. It stands tall and eliminates people's worries. Each of the four overhanging eaves on the top of the pavilion has a dragon. Looking back, it's a pity that the two by the river have been destroyed, and the two behind are still vaguely visible. There is a pearl in the middle of the roof. Wind and rain erosion has disappeared the past round. The beautiful scenery from the moon tower is not to be won. It makes people want to play the piano and make the moon elegant. When we went, we saw that Deyue's downstairs had been transformed into a restaurant with simple and fashionable decoration. There are many good English books in the restaurant. If you can calm down and have a cup of coffee, you can spend a lot of time here,

The ancient buildings here follow the traditional Chinese style. The white walls, green tiles, green slate, doorsill, doors and windows are all wooden structures, which together form a unique village style of Northern Guangxi dwellings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Perhaps it is more remote here, so it is well preserved. There is an old house at the entrance of the village. The door is old and unsophisticated. We push the door into it. The yard is full of weeds. "Is anyone there?" There was no response to the question, and it reverberated in the empty room of Hei Yao. The tablet of "the master of heaven and earth sect" confessed by Wu Zi was covered with dust. When the wooden stick was used to poke open the door inside, except for some old things, the two black framed photos on the wall had been skewed. "It's really creepy, like the scenes in ghost movies," said a new "riding friend" who followed me as I stepped back. In Liugong village, there are still a few deserted houses like this, which are good places for "exploring ancient houses".

Liugong three treasures

I got a warm-hearted old man from the village to take a look at Liugong village. Now there are three kinds of historical relics that villagers are proud of: ancestral hall plaque, Jiashi, Yidu tablet. In the middle of the village, there is a ancestral hall of the surname Li. This ancestral hall is a place for the clan to discuss business and offer sacrifices to their ancestors. There are two gun holes on each side of the gate of the ancestral hall. It is said that it was specially dug out to prevent banditry. The plaque of "Yongxiang Temple" can still be seen on the gate of the ancestral hall. The plaque is made of stone, which was erected during the reign of Guangxu and is the first treasure of Liugong. It is said that gold has been excavated in this ancestral hall! It was the old landlord who buried it here.

In the alley behind the old people's Association, there are still intact four stones standing in groups of two, about five meters apart, about one person high, engraved with the words "tongzhiren shennian" and "chenggongsheng Li Zhenyan". There are three semicircles at the top, one big and two small, square in the middle, and one round hole in each. The hole is decorated with lace. Village people say that this is called "Jiashi", which is equivalent to a popular diploma. A family with "Jiashi" at the gate means that someone in this family has read. The inscriptions indicate the degree level and the name of the recipient.

Not far from the "Jiashi", by the riverside steps, you can see two powerful characters of "Yidu". Yidu stele is not rare. It can also be found at the ferry crossing along the Li River and Yulong River. However, there are four pieces of Yidu stele and Yidu stele, which are connected and well preserved. I'm afraid they are not easy to see in other places. The new liugongdu tablet vividly records the reasons for Jiandu and the names of the people who were willing to donate money to Jiandu. It was erected in the eighth year of the Republic of China, and is rare in calligraphy and content.

Exploration of Liugong ancient house

We went to a restaurant next to Liugong ferry for lunch. Facing the picturesque scenery of Liugong village, we had a meal in the mountains and waters. It was very pleasant! The autumn breeze blows through the bamboo forest on the other side of the river, blowing across the calm river, sending wisps of soft and lazy autumn sunshine. On the surface of the river are groups of cheerful snow-white ducks, and egrets pass by the river from time to time. On the Bank of the river are village women washing clothes, and there are bamboo rafts parked at will. The Osprey on the bamboo rafts look around, and the scenery often seen in the paintings really appears in front of us. The most unforgettable farmhouse meal in Liugong village is that I haven't had such delicious local chicken meat for a long time, as well as the golden local duck eggs and the pink taro with clear areca pattern. Ha ha, I still bought two Jin of local duck eggs with the restaurant's elder sister to take back.
