Yancheng Museum
Yancheng museum is located about 7 kilometers south of Changzhou. It is the oldest and most complete ground ancient city pool preserved from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the spring and Autumn Period in China. It is also recognized as an ancient city with three cities and three rivers in the world. It covers an area of about 0.6 square kilometers and has a history of nearly 3000 years. It is now an important cultural relic protection unit in China.
In 1985, Yancheng museum was established. In 1988, Yancheng Museum borrowed the bungalow of Yancheng management office as a cultural relics exhibition room to display Yancheng cultural relics collected and excavated over the years. In 1990, it expanded the exhibition hall and renovated the exhibition.
After 3000 years of ups and downs, what remains is the masterpiece of nature. There are some clear water in Jiangnan, some geometric monuments left over by fertile fields for thousands of years, and many splendid cultures of the Chinese nation hidden underground. Setting foot in it is like entering a paradise, giving people an ancient, quiet and profound feeling. People here have such a saying: "Beijing in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Xi'an in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Yancheng in the spring and Autumn period.". It can be seen that "Yancheng" has an extraordinary attraction in people's mind. Since 1958, a large number of geometrically imprinted pottery pots, vats, urns, bowls and bronzes (such as bronze chime bells and bronze tripods) have been unearthed in Yancheng. The canoe excavated in the inner city has caused a sensation in Chinese archaeology. The largest one is chiseled for the whole section of Nanmu fire axe. It is 11 meters long, 0.9 meters wide and 0.45 meters deep. It is known as "the first boat in the world" and is now treasured in Beijing Museum
