Design Introduction
According to the design scheme, the whole architectural design of Guangxi science and Technology Museum integrates the essence of Guangxi local ethnic and cultural. For example, in the region, its spirit is similar to the elephant trunk mountain in Guilin, the moon mountain in Yangshuo, and the pearl oyster in Beihai. In terms of nationality, the design of the main composition adopts the most distinctive and representative feathered figure of Guangxi bronze drum and national costumes, making the building like a giant wing unfolding when soaring, which has national characteristics and appeal.
In terms of scientific connotation, the sphere design of dome cinema is like an egg to be laid in the mother of Phoenix, or pearl oyster to breed new life. It contains the implication of "science breeds the future" and "Pearl educates people", especially in the streamline rolling state of sphere design, which makes the whole design dynamic and static, full of spirituality. As the new science and Technology Museum is built on the central axis of the national Avenue, it will match the Guangxi People's Hall on the national square and become another landmark building in Guangxi.
In the design, the museum will have five exhibition areas: Guangxi ASEAN exhibition area, exploration exhibition area, life and health exhibition area, environment and energy exhibition area, information and future exhibition area. In the exhibition hall, more than 80% of the exhibits can be hands-on participated and demonstrated by the audience, and more than 95% of the exhibits can be hands-on participated and demonstrated in the children's exhibition area.
Free access
According to Changjiang Hong of Guangxi science and Technology Museum, the scope of free opening of Guangxi science and Technology Museum to the public includes: permanent science popularization exhibition hall and its exhibits; temporary exhibition hall and public welfare science popularization exhibition. The public does not need to buy tickets to enter the science and Technology Museum. In addition, tour, explanation, deposit and other services are free of charge.
Guangxi science and Technology Museum has a permanent science exhibition hall, temporary exhibition hall, high-tech cinema, youth science studio, science and technology training, academic exchanges and other major functional areas. After the opening of Guangxi science and Technology Museum (New Museum) on December 5, 2008, the permanent science popularization exhibition hall will be open to the elderly, the disabled, the active servicemen and other special groups free of charge. From January 23, 2012, it will be open to minors free of charge.
In addition, Guangxi science and technology museum also launched a number of free measures, such as the national science and technology activity week, the national science popularization day and other public days free of charge, and public organizations free of charge to visit.
Since May 16, Guangxi science and Technology Museum has implemented the visiting system of "no free tickets, group booking" for the public, that is, individual visitors can get tickets free of charge with valid certificates for orderly visits; group visits must be registered two working days in advance.
By the end of 2014, Guangxi science and Technology Museum has received more than 6.32 million visitors. Among them, the permanent popular science exhibition hall receives about 2.83 million visitors (about 1.61 million free visitors), holds more than 170 temporary exhibitions, and receives nearly 2.73 million free visitors.
At the same time, the four floor exhibition hall of Guangxi science and Technology Museum is also launched. The new exhibition hall includes "electric power science popularization exhibition area" and "hands-on world" exhibition area. It gathers exhibits showing the cutting-edge of high technology and enriches the exhibits of Guangxi science and Technology Museum. Up to now, the number of exhibits in the permanent science exhibition hall is about 450 (sets), and the comprehensive service capacity of science popularization has been greatly improved.
Technology experience
On the first floor
The head sculptures of famous Chinese and foreign scientists such as Zhang Heng, Li Shizhen, Darwin and Madame Curie have been placed on both sides of the gate. After the installation of the escalator running through the floor, next to the ticket machine, there is a 24 meter high mural with colorful themes. With the image of compass, Shenzhou spaceship and other patterns, the brilliant development of Chinese science from ancient times to the present is displayed in layers. Walking into the second floor, a silver robot stands at the elevator entrance, ready to "talk" with tourists. As long as tourists choose the prompt questions on the computer monitor, the welcome robot will be able to answer the questions like a stream, showing the magic charm of scientific and technological progress. Around the entrance, new and interesting interactive experience area comes into view.
The "pull yourself" in the mechanical charm area is similar to a swing. The experiencer can sit on it and pull the rope hanging in front of him to lift himself. In the "ten groups of mechanical transmission", as the experimenter turns the steering wheel, the clown, cartoon dog and duckling connected by gears, connecting rods and other mechanical transmission devices will automatically stretch and contract the neck, arms, thighs and other joints like radio exercises. The very interesting "needle screen" is like a photographic "needle wall", which is composed of dense slender metal rods. As long as you dare to "bury" your hands, feet and even face for a while, these body parts will vividly emerge from the needle curtain. In the acoustic exhibition area, two experimenters can whisper when they stand on the "air communication" platform tens of meters apart.
The most challenging is the "electromagnetic stage" in the electrical exhibition area. If you dare to get into a "cage" of high-voltage discharge, you can see the powerful electric sparks splashing around with your own eyes, and the staff will encourage you to reach out boldly. Of course, you're unscathed. It is said that this "cage" which tests the courage of the experimenters is a popular project of major science and technology museums across the country and has been enduring.
The "invisible man" in the optical exhibition area may be the most magical science and technology exhibit. The experimenter stands behind the wallboard inlaid with two mirrors, and all his hands and feet disappear, leaving only a head. It is amazing to see this "trick".
I've only heard that round wheels can run before, but the square Wheeler in the science and Technology Museum is an eye opener. The car uses the principle of "catenary surface", "curved surface" and "road surface", so that the square wheel car can run smoothly on the uneven road.
Exhibition area on the second floor
A children's paradise will be set up. In the paradise of castles, forests and other gorgeous shapes, children can use water as strings to play beautiful music with "water string organ"; they can be a "little electrician" and use their palms to conduct electricity to help open the curtains of the cartoon house; they can say hello to the "Shouquan carp" in the pool. The louder they shout, the more spring water the fish will spout from their mouths
The most eye-catching sphere building of the new museum is actually the sphere screen cinema and 4D cinema, which have the dual functions of sky program and sphere screen movie. It integrates advanced technologies such as three-dimensional image, environmental water spraying, air blowing and smoke screen, and brings a new visual shock to the audience.
For children, in addition to enjoying the exploration addiction in the dazzling permanent exhibition hall, the Youth Science studio on the sixth floor of the new hall is also a fun place. The indoor layout will be divided into robot, astronomy, parent-child science experience, personalized printing and dyeing, scientific exploration and other areas to carry out robot performance, Science Theater, astronomy lecture, and so on
