Dazong Lake

Dazong Lake is located about 17km northeast of Xiahe County. It is revered as "God Lake" by local people. In June every year, pilgrims from all over the country come here to turn around the lake and make pilgrimage. There is an open area near the lake, where manidui and sword platform for Tibetan religious activities are built, surrounded by prayer flags. The elevation of Dazong Lake is about 3100m. The left bank of the lake is relatively flat, and the road is relatively flat. However, when you turn to the right side of the lake, the mountain becomes steeper, and the road becomes a faint path with shrubs and branches. It can be seen that there is a cement repair platform, which is the place where pilgrims offer tribute to the holy lake. Floating in the lake are a lot of long round cloth bags, which contain mostly highland barley.
