Great Buddha Temple

The Great Buddha Temple is located in dongkan Town, Binhai County, Jiangsu Province. The ancient Great Buddha Temple is located at 615 Mingda Road, houwei River, dongkan Town, Binhai County, Jiangsu Province (called Fangsheng River in ancient times). The ancient Great Buddha Temple has a long history and was built in the early years of Qianlong.

The Great Buddha Temple worships three great Buddhas: one is zhunti Bodhisattva, also known as tizun sect leader.

Brief introduction to temples

Binhai County Dafo temple is located in dongkan Town, Binhai County; the ancient Dafo temple is located at 615 Mingda Road, houwei River, dongkan Town, Binhai County, Jiangsu Province (known as Fangsheng River in ancient times). The ancient Dafo temple has a long history. It was built in the early years of Qianlong and worships three great Buddhas: one is zhunti Bodhisattva, also known as tizun leader. The second is Amitabha. The third is Sakyamuni.

The scale

The Great Buddha temple covers an area of more than 500 mu, more than 400 years ago. In 1935, the new Fifth Division of jihongchang division of the northwest army used the Dafosi temple as its barracks, which was still empty. It can be seen from the scale of the ancient temple that most of the temple products were destroyed by the Japanese war around 1943, leaving only a little remnant wall and some Buddha statues. The relics include a hundred year old stone tablet of the Great Buddha Temple and a seven treasure Tathagata terrace.

Reconstruction period

In 1995, the Great Buddha Temple was rebuilt.
