Jincheng Bay Park

Jinchengwan park is located at the southeast end of Lihu lake, east of Wuhu Avenue (Lihu tunnel), south of Jincheng Road West Road, west of Gonghu Avenue and north of Jinshi Road, with a total area of about 535000 square meters.

Jinchengwan Park mainly improves the ecological environment of jinchengwan area through the implementation of Lake retreat ecological engineering and river regulation. Through high starting point planning and high-level design, it meticulously creates several functional areas, such as the park entrance square area, smart garden area, colorful waterfront area, Lihu Water Village area, water town dream seeking area, childlike innocence flying area and reserved building transformation area.

With the completion and opening of jinchengwan Park, the 38 km coastline of the open scenic area around Lihu lake has been fully connected, so that the new and old urban areas have better communication, and the tourism effect of Wuxi City has been brought to the maximum, which truly reflects the grand idea of "Lihu Lake embraces the City and the city is close to Lihu Lake".

Legend of golden basin Bay

Jincheng Bay is also called Jinpen Bay in history. It is said that not far from Wuli Lake, there lived a poor old couple. One day, the old man went out to beg for food, accidentally broke the bowl, he saw a dirty basin at the intersection, so he picked it up and continued to beg.

Strange to say, the rice and copper money given to the basin by others are inexhaustible. It turned out that it was a treasure pot. The old man went home and told the old lady that they thought it was a treasure pot from heaven, so they used it to do good and help the poor. The poor people in the four townships and eight neighbors heard that there was a treasure pot, and they came to collect rice and money.

Soon, a fisherman knew about it. He came to the door and forced the old man to hand over the treasure basin. The old man refused to say anything. The fisherman grabbed the treasure basin and left. As soon as Yuba got on the boat, he couldn't wait to put Yuanbao in the treasure basin. There were really endless Yuanbao in the basin. He took it again and again, and filled the cabin. He still wanted to take it. Suddenly, the bottom of the boat went through, and Yuba sank to the bottom of the lake with the treasure basin.

It is said that the Jinbao basin is still in Wulihu Lake. It helps the Wuxi people to live and work in peace and contentment.

Legend of Jingcheng Bay

On the South Bank of Wulihu Lake (now Jincheng Bay), there is a small Village Lane with more than ten households, Wangdao lane. Most people make a living by farming and fishing. There is a good atmosphere in the village of helping others.

There was a barefoot immortal who traveled abroad. When he heard that many people praised Wang Daoxiang, he wanted to try the truth. He incarnated himself as a ragged beggar and fell to the ground at the entrance of Wangdao alley, shouting "ouch, ouch". At this time, a young man named erhu came running to help him to his home, carefully washing his feet and applying medicine. When people in the village heard about it, they also sent clothes one after another.

The barefoot immortal can't help but feel a lot of emotion and restore his original shape: "your virtue is as high as a mountain, and your goodness is as big as a sea. I ask you villagers to be emperors from generation to generation.". The village people said: "we only like farming and fishing for generations, don't care about the emperor." The barefoot immortal thought about it and said, "if you don't want to be an emperor, I'll send you a Taoist robe embroidered with dragon and pearl. This bay is called Jingcheng Bay." After that, auspicious clouds surged up and floated away.

Strange to say, as soon as the immortal left, his eyes were full of gold and fragrance everywhere. Since then, there has been a bumper harvest year after year, and every family has more than enough. It has become a real Jincheng Bay.

History and culture of Jincheng Bay

Jincheng Bay is a tapestry of humanities, which is closely related to such sages as Fan Li, Xi Shi, Gu Kaizhi, Ni Yunlin, Wang Fu, Gao Panlong, Rong Desheng, Zhou Shunqing, Yang Hanxi and Wang Yuqing. In order to let more people understand the history and culture of Jincheng Bay, the park has specially made a number of cultural interpretation walls and frames, as well as tourist guide plates, by means of stone carvings, metal guide frames and other display means.
