Tzu Chi University
Its full name is "Tzu Chi University" or "Tzu Chi University" for short. It is a Buddhist University located in Hualien City, Hualien County, Taiwan. It is founded by Tzu Chi merit society, a charitable organization. It is famous for its medical college and Life Sciences Academy. Tzu Chi University used to be one of the few universities in Taiwan where students needed to wear uniforms (since 2012, it was only the administrative staff who needed to wear uniforms, and there was no rigid rule). Because the income of Tzu Chi's subsidies and donations to the university is higher than that of ordinary universities, the funds for running the university are abundant
Therefore, the tuition fee is lower than that of private universities. Tzu Chi University is one of the few universities in Taiwan with low teacher-student ratio (excluding the number of part-time and full-time professors: the number of students = 1:8.9).
