Located 5 kilometers southwest of Pingshan County, Oriental turtle garden is the largest turtle breeding base in North China. Oriental giant turtle Garden

Located on the East Bank of Yehe River in Pingshan County, Hebei Province, the Oriental giant turtle garden is close to Xibaipo, the holy land of revolution, 35 kilometers east of Shijiazhuang. The total area of the scenic spot is more than 2600 mu. It was built by fan Haiting, a national model worker and farmer entrepreneur, with a huge investment of 150 million yuan by using the local unique natural resources. The scenic spot is the largest in the world and the first in China. There are 81 red, green, ancient and new scenic spots, which are known by Chinese and foreign friends as "the world of mountains and seas, thousands of books on rocks".

In February 2020, in order to pay homage to the vast number of medical workers fighting in the front line of prevention and control, from the date of resumption of operation to December 31, 2020, the Oriental giant turtle garden will offer free tours to medical workers with doctor's and nurse's certificates.

Development history

Located in the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain, at the foot of Guanglu mountain, on the Bank of Yehe River, 35 kilometers away from Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province, Dongfang giant turtle garden scenic area is built by fan Haiting, a national model worker and turtle farmer in Pingshan, on the basis of 13 years of scientific turtle breeding, using the local unique natural resources and historical and cultural resources, with a huge investment of 250 million yuan. Fan Haiting, the general manager of the Oriental turtle garden scenic spot, was born in 1942 in a poor peasant family in Dongye of our village. He began to raise turtles in 1983, and then invented the technology of raising turtles in plastic greenhouse, which shocked the world. He built the largest turtle breeding base in northern China and became the "big boss" with hundreds of millions of yuan of assets. In 1994, he invested more than 2 million yuan to build a 3-kilometer-long and 8-meter-wide cement road out of the village. However, in 1996, a flood destroyed more than half of the road. In 1997, he began to rebuild it again. Only then did he build the 4-kilometer-long and 10 meter wide cement road. In 1999, Pingshan County Party committee and county government named it "Haiting road", but villagers called it "Golden Avenue".

Main attractions

Yehe river drifting: the water area is more than 50 meters wide, the drifting area is 3000 meters, and the total fall is more than 30 meters. Yehe waterfall is 369 meters wide with a drop of 28 meters. It is a unique waterfall in North China. Baiyuan Lake Baiyuan island is located in Yehe wetland, with more than 600 mu of water surface and more than 20 mu of island area.

The Chinese historical garden covers an area of more than 2000 mu. It runs through the 21 dynasties of Chinese history with the kilometer long grape dragon as the central axis. It displays the 5000 year history of China with kilometer white jade relief, Wanhang epic and more than 600 statues.

Large scale ecological park, covering an area of 250800 square meters, is divided into three parts: high-tech vegetable garden, rare flower garden and exotic fruit garden. There are flowers in four seasons and fruits in three seasons. Picking Festival is held all year round.

Turtle breeding base -- covering an area of 380 mu, is the largest turtle breeding base in northern China.

Cross century memorial archway

The archway is 13.2 meters high, 16.2 meters wide and weighs 4.8 million jin. It was carved with a large block of green steel stone for one year. The archway is exquisitely carved with beautiful shape. It can be regarded as the best stone carving. At the same time, 1999 mascots, tortoises, are carved in three ways: round carving, relief carving and openwork carving. It represents the largest number at the turn of the century, with different and lifelike expressions. This masterpiece was published in Guinness in 1999.

Commemorative monument

It was built in 1998 to celebrate the relocation of the CPC Central Committee and PLA headquarters to Xibaipo and the relocation of the North China People's government to Dongye village, and to commemorate the great achievements of Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai and other proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation. The body of the monument is made of green steel stone, with a height of 9.9 meters, a width of 1.6 meters, a height of 0.99 meters, and a total weight of more than 60 tons. The white marble inscription on the base is more meaningful, and the south side is the elephant On the north side is the painting of Eight Immortals crossing the sea, which symbolizes the unprecedented prosperity and liberation of various industries after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. There is a tiger in front and a lion guarding behind. Its inscription has been permanently collected by the Museum of Chinese revolutionary history, and a memorial certificate has been issued. General stele

The total stele of the Chinese historical garden is followed by a stele. The stele is 5 meters high, symbolizing the built-in landscape architecture with 5000 years of history and civilization of different dynasties in the scenic area. It is 2.1 meters wide, representing the 21st century. It is made of a whole piece of green steel stone. The whole process took 16.5 months.

Relief group

In order to better display the 5000 year old Chinese civilization from the aspects of economy and culture, Mr. Fan invested more than 30 million yuan to build the 1000 meter relief, which is 1.2 meters high, 12 cm thick and more than 2100 meters long.
