Chaishan nature park
Chaishan nature park is located in the Chaishan area at the West foot of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. Its establishment originated from the Kaohsiung City People's independent mountain protection movement in 1992. During this period, it included the negotiation between several environmental protection groups and various units of the Taiwan government, as well as the ten thousand people joint signing movement and so on. In 1997, the Kaohsiung Municipal Government promulgated the "measures for the administration of Shoushan natural park in Kaohsiung City", which clearly defined the area above 10 meters above sea level in Gushan district and Chaishan area to the east of the western coast as Chaishan natural park.
history
On May 1, 1992, environmentalists in Kaohsiung set up the Chaishan nature park Promotion Association (Chaishan Association) to promote the establishment of Chaishan nature park. Together with the wild bird conservation association of Kaohsiung and the Nature Conservation Association of Taiwan, China, they organized the training of ecological commentators.
On May 13, 1993, Chaishan Society issued a document to Taiwan's Ministry of the interior urging Chaishan to be set up as a natural park.
On May 19, 1993, the Ministry of the interior sent a reply to the public works bureau of Gaoshi government.
On August 7, 1993, Chaishan society submitted its case to the Taiwan Academy of supervision, and Zhao Rongrong of the supervision committee held a discussion on the establishment of Shoushan natural park.
On July 10, 1994, the Chaishan nature park was founded by the Chaishan society at shanshankou with 30000 signatures.
On January 8, 1995, Chaishan Society sent a letter to ask the Agriculture Commission to set up "Chaishan wildlife reserve" according to the new wildlife conservation law
On November 7, 1995, the Kaohsiung Municipal government tried to make Shoushan a natural park. The Ministry of the interior agreed in principle, and in accordance with the "measures for the administration of Shoushan natural park in Kaohsiung City" set by the municipal government.
On July 23, 1997, the Shoushan natural park Promotion Committee held its first meeting to discuss the scope of the natural park. The military representatives at the meeting agreed that the unopened areas of the general's side should also be included in the scope of the park and controlled by the natural park management measures.
On October 1, 1997, the second meeting of "Shoushan natural park Promotion Committee" determined that the natural park covers the western coast, Sun Yat sen University and taini mining area, and the contour line is more than 10 meters, covering almost the whole Chaishan.
On March 29, 1998, the Construction Bureau of Kaohsiung City started a 10 day clean mountain activity.
On June 16, 2000, the Chaishan Association, the Kaohsiung teachers' Association and the Kaohsiung Branch of the China telecom trade union submitted a petition to the Kaohsiung Municipal government, demanding the demolition of illegal buildings in Chaishan area.
On June 22, 2000, the Kaohsiung Municipal Government demolished the garden illegally built by Lin hongzong, the then representative of public opinion in Taiwan. Violence broke out at the scene. On September 4, 2000, more than 600 officers and police were mobilized in Kaohsiung to clean the mountain and demolish illegal buildings.
On May 20, 2002, Shoushan nature park police force was established.
Introduction to the nature reserve
Taiwan macaque nature reserve
Formosan monkey first appeared on the international stage because in 1865, the first British Consul in Taiwan, Mr. Swinhoe, sent a pair of macaques to London. After comparison, they were found to be endemic to Taiwan, so they were named Formosan rock monkey. The Taiwan macaque nature reserve in Chaishan is about two kilometers away from Longquan Temple. However, due to the increased interaction between monkeys and human beings and improper feeding of tourists, some scholars also worry that the macaque population in Chaishan is gradually losing their instinct to survive in the wild.
Wooden plank road planning
In order to reduce the damage to the herbaceous plants on the surface, the main climbing routes in Chaishan area are paved with wooden trestles, pavilions and emergency stations. There are two main paths: one is from the entrance of Longquan Temple, the other is from the zoo to the wooden plank road. However, the wooden plank road currently used in the area will not directly contact with the surface soil, which has the advantages of reducing the damage to the surface herbaceous plants, and small animals can move under the wooden plank road.
Species crisis
In recent years, due to the opening up of Chaishan mountain and the free access of the public, private rest areas have been inundated, and foreign climbers continue to introduce horticultural plants. As a result, a variety of horticultural plants have invaded Chaishan forest for a long time, among which HuangJinGe and dianzhucao are the most serious, It leads to the simplification of vegetation. Because of the large number of wooden plank roads laid in Chaishan, many climbers also steal and destroy the plants around the plank roads. According to statistics, in 2003, the destruction rate of Amorphophallus konjac along beichaishan trail was as high as 15%.
In addition, since the opening of Chaishan in 1989, the number of macaques in Taiwan has increased greatly due to the rising awareness of conservation. It has been reported that macaques in groups ask for food from mountaineers, or even bite tourists because of robbing food from tourists or local residents. Moreover, due to the long-term feeding, the number of macaques has increased sharply and the primitive interaction between macaques has been impacted, which has seriously affected the healthy growth of macaques on Chaishan mountain and gradually lost the ability of foraging in the forest. In addition, some Chaishan macaques were detected to be infected with simian B virus by the animal health laboratory of Taiwan Agricultural Commission, which increased the risk of contact between humans and macaques. In addition to the diseases caused by human and animal contact and the primitive foraging problem of monkeys, due to the change of living habits of monkeys, the interaction with human community is becoming more and more frequent, which also increases other social problems.
In addition, the growing number of wild dogs abandoned by human beings in Chaishan area has also begun to threaten the living space of local protected animals. In 2006, the Chaishan garrison reported the case of wild dogs biting Shanqiang.
