Huisun Forest Farm

Huisun forest farm, one of the four major forest farms affiliated to Zhongxing University, is located in Ren'ai township. It is intersected by Beigang River and its tributaries, creating Canyon, torrent, waterfall and other scenery. The original forest landscape is also quite rich, including subtropical and temperate forest. It has the largest coffee garden in Taiwan. Because of the rainy weather in Taiwan, the fruiting season is very long. In summer and autumn, you can see the red and green coffee fruits full of branches. There is a camping area in the terrace. You can enjoy forest bathing, hiking, bird watching and other fun on the sightseeing routes in the forest farm.

Huisun Forest Farm

Huisun forest farm is located in Ren'ai Township, Nantou County, Taiwan Province. It is one of the four major forest farms under the Agricultural College of Zhongxing University. Huisun forest farm covers a total area of 7477 hectares, of which nearly 80% is undeveloped. It maintains the state of virgin forest. It is also the largest virgin forest in Taiwan. The landscape and species have both educational and ornamental functions.

Founded in the era of Japanese occupation, it originally belonged to the official forest of Nantou hall.

In August 1949, Daidian was transferred to Taiwan Provincial Agricultural College, the predecessor of the University, and was renamed NengGao forest farm.

On November 20, 1977, when Mr. Tang Huisun, President of Zhongxing University, inspected the afforestation work here, a mountain martyr died here. In memory of him, he changed his name to Huisun forest farm. In 1980, it was renamed Huisun experimental forest farm.

Huisun forest farm is rich in primeval forest. From 450 meters to 2419 meters above sea level, there are warm, warm and subtropical landscapes with an altitude drop of nearly 2000 meters. The most distinctive feature is that the Beigang River and the tributary Guandao River, which flow through the site, have the vigorous downward cutting effect of the upstream river and crisscross with high mountains and deep valleys, forming majestic canyons, waterfalls and torrents And so on scenery, unique wilderness primitive charm, rich landscape.

From the entrance, there are coffee garden, SONGFENG area, huisunling, Liyuan villa, frog stone, tanggongting, small wooden house area, Qinglong Valley and platform area. The scenery of the forest farm is very pleasant. You can enjoy forest bath, bird watching, ecological intellectual growth and other fun.

Huisun forest farm has six Trails: tanggongbei trail, Songfengshan trail, frog stone trail, Shanlan trail, Dujuan Ridge Trail and healthy wading trail On the way to tanggongbei, you will pass through the artificial fir forest, Japan's bianbailin, Muhe nature reserve and Xiaonan nature reserve, with rich natural ecology; Songfengshan trail is about 2.5km long, mainly covered with pine trees, overlooking the winding Beigang Valley and steep cliffs, with rich vegetation at the foot of the mountain and good landscape view;

Frog stone trail is about 750 meters one way. Along the trail, there are big trees, such as Sapindus mukorossi, Ficus acerifolia, Solanum tuberosum and so on. Under the big trees, there are a lot of aunt taro, African Impatiens and crabapple, and the magnificent scenery of Beigang Valley is enough for you to stay for a long time;

The total length of Shanlan trail is about 2.4 km. Compared with frog stone trail, the ecology of animals and plants and layers of natural primeval forest are much richer;

The health wading trail is located at the exit of Shanlan trail, which is the only area in Huisun forest farm where you can play in the water;

Dujuan Ridge Trail is about 2 kilometers long, and it is full of Puli Rhododendron which is endemic to Taiwan.

Zhongxing coffee, the only native coffee in the province, is planted in Huisun forest farm. It is Arabian coffee tree. Because of the rainy weather in Taiwan, it has a special fruiting season. If you come to Huisun forest farm in summer and autumn, you can see a large landscape of red and green coffee fruits full of branches. Its taste is light and the smell is fragrant. The coffee produced by Huisun forest farm has won the "world tasting of agricultural products" in the United States Silver medal, visitors can also enjoy the strong aroma of coffee in Huisun forest farm.
