Shennongjia Nature Museum is located in Songbai Town, the seat of Shennongjia government. It is the only regional nature museum in Central China. Former president Li Xiannian inscribed the title for the museum.

Collection

Here is a collection of some photos, a large number of animal and plant specimens and various kinds of rare stones from the inspection of Shennongjia by the leaders of the central government at all levels.

There are more than 2000, 12000 plant specimens and more than 400, 1000 animal specimens in the museum. It shows the rich and colorful animals and plants in Shennongjia, and forms the miniature of a unique green treasure house.

The whole museum is arranged according to the characteristics of the primeval forest. The whole museum is divided into two parts: plants and animals. General Hall: including the geographical model of Shennongjia, pictures of Party and state leaders inspecting Shennongjia and pictures of "pigeon tree", Alpine Rhododendron, Lianxiang tree and other national protected plants.

Qishiting: collected various types of hieroglyphic stones and fossils from Shennongjia, mainly including shells, conches, trilobites, Sinian hornfels and other marine animal fossils. Strange stones are stars, girls, sun, moon, lions and so on.

Animal Hall: mammals, including snub nosed monkey, South China tiger, white bear, flying mouse, green weasel and other specimens; birds, including Golden Eagle, white crane, vulture, red bellied pheasant and other specimens.
