Reed Flute Cave

Ludi scenic area is composed of Houshan, the highest mountain in Guilin, ludiyan, the most beautiful karst cave, Taohuajiang River, fanglianchi and other mountain waterscape.

The stalactites in ludiyan cave are colorful and magnificent, which is famous for its exquisite, magnificent and illusory features. Ludiyan is located in the northwest suburb of Guilin City, 5 kilometers away from the city center. It is a scenic spot mainly for visiting caves, supplemented by landscape and idyllic scenery. Ludi cave is 240 meters deep and 500 meters long. There are a large number of beautiful and exquisite stalagmites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains and stone flowers in the cave, which make up Shiling Zhaoxia, hongluobaozhang, Panlong pagoda, primeval forest, Crystal Palace, Huaguoshan and other landscapes, which make tourists dazzled. Like a fairyland, it is known as "the Art Palace of nature". Since the Tang Dynasty, there have been traces of tourists in all dynasties, and there are 77 murals in the cave. Since its discovery and development in 1959, it has built restaurants, teahouses, waterside pavilions, Lake pools, curved bridges, pleasure boats, and widely planted flowers and trees. It has become a hot spot for Chinese and foreign tourists when they visit Guilin.

Reed Flute Cave

Reed flute rock is located on the Bank of Taohua River in the northwest of Guilin City, on the south side of Guangming mountain. There used to be a kind of reed grass at the entrance of the cave. It is said that it can be used as a flute to make a pleasant sound. Hence the name of reed flute rock. The formation of reed flute rock has experienced a long time. One million years ago, it used to be an ancient underground lake. Due to the crustal movement, the mountain uplifted, the underground water level dropped, and the underground lake became a cave. Later, the groundwater formed by rainwater flows along many fracture zones in the mountain, dissolves the calcium carbonate in the rock and turns into a solution containing carbonate and calcium ions. When the underground water flows into the cave from the crevice of the rock, the carbon dioxide overflows, and the calcium ions precipitate and crystallize. After years of accumulation, a variety of stalactites are formed. People praise reed flute rock as a palace of art of nature. As far back as 1000 years ago, people visited ludiyan in the Tang Dynasty. Many ancient ink marks were left on the stone walls of ludiyan, but they were not developed in the past dynasties. The investigation and construction of reed flute rock began in 1959. It was officially opened to tourists in 1962.

Guangming mountain, where reed flute rock is located, was once called Maotou mountain. It turned out that there was only a small hole in the hillside, which only allowed one person to go in and out. The hillside was covered with reed grass, which did not attract people's attention. In Lingui county annals, Guangming mountain is recorded, but there is no cave on the mountainside. In the cave, there are more than 70 pieces of wall script since the eighth year of Zhengyuan (792) of Tang Dynasty. Most of them are inscribed on the cave wall with ink. These wall books show that the reed flute rock is not unknown from ancient times. The villagers nearby have known about this ingenious cave for a long time, but people have kept it secret for a long time.

"The reed flute, the rock head, the shackles are broken, and the fairies sing in the Peach Blossom Land." After liberation, people's life was stable and there was no need to take refuge. So they told the secret of ludiyan. In 1959, villagers nearby provided information about the cave. After investigation and construction, it was officially opened in 1962. Reed grass grows near the entrance of the cave. It is said that it can be made into a flute to make a pleasant sound. Hence the name of reed rock.

Myths and legends

Once upon a time, the reed flute rock was empty, and there was no scenery. One year, the emperor Lao Tzu celebrated his 60th birthday, and the imperial edicts were passed down to all parts of the country to send gold and silver treasures, exotic animals, and tribute to celebrate his birthday. In the name of birthday celebrations, the officials took a fight against the common people. All over the country, for a while, they were making a great deal of noise and crying. In particular, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangxi and other minority areas have been disturbed and complained.

After a while, the tributary troops from Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou passed by Guizhou Prefecture one after another. This is a huge team, thousands of gongs and drums, trumpets team in front of the gong to open the way, the sound of music to the sky, the moon in the nap to wake up the fairy. She pushed open the window and looked down. She saw a long line of people crawling North like a worm. There were groups on both sides of the road. Some people were crying, some were shouting, some were moving, and some were angry.

Chang'e didn't know what happened in Guilin; she asked little white rabbit to come down to the world to inquire, and she quickly washed and dressed herself. Little white rabbit came to the old man's mountain in Guilin and asked the old man. The old man sighed. He told the story back and forth, and told little white rabbit to quickly turn back to the Moon Palace and ask Chang'e to find a way to save the people.

Chang'e listened to the little white rabbit's report, and her angry jade teeth rattled: "well, you old emperor, you have ruined the people's families. I will punish you!"

In addition, when the tribute team arrived in Hunan, it passed the Xiangjiang River, entered Dongting, entered the Yangtze River, and went to Wuhan. She flew to aro temple, borrowed 80000 crows from the eighteen Arhats, and waited for the tribute ships to sail to the center of Dongting Lake. As soon as her long sleeves blew, the wind blew and the white waves surged. They knocked over all the boats. Eighty thousand crows showed their magic power and sent their tribute to the owner one by one. The people in Guilin know that Chang'e is the one who has done good deeds. They are very happy and grateful. Chang'e thought that it was not unreasonable for the dog officials to drown the common people. As for the soldiers, they should be sent. So there was a gust of wind again, and all the soldiers were sent back to their places of origin.

When the prefects of Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan and Guangxi learned that the tributes collected from various families had returned to the owner, they were so angry that they were all puffed and glared. Even worse, a large number of officers and soldiers were sent out to loot. At the same time, many people were killed, many houses were burned, and the common people were killed even more miserably. Chang'e was very upset when she learned about this.

Before long, the tribute teams of the five counties gathered again and prepared to cross the Dongting Lake. This time, the officers and men were afraid of capsizing by the strong wind, so they linked all the boats together with iron chains. In this way, no matter how big the storm is, it won't work.

When Chang'e saw it, she laughed to herself: I can easily get the tribute even if I don't break your serial ship, but how to deal with so many tribute has become a problem. If I can't do it well, the common people will suffer as they did last time. Finally, he decided to use magic to hide the treasure collected by the government in the cave. After a year and a half, he would return the treasure to the owner. So immediately action, overnight, people do not know all the items from the ship moved to the outskirts of Guilin. Originally, Chang'e wanted to hide her tribute in the seven star rock, but it was not proper for tourists to play in the cave. Later, she searched around and finally found a big cave in the hinterland of Guangming mountain in the northwest suburb of Guilin, which was so big that it could hold half of the sky. So all the wealth was collected by Chang'e into the cave of Guangming mountain. Seeing that the cave entrance was too small, Chang'e was afraid that she would be buried by shrubs when the days were long, so she planted some reeds near the cave entrance to mark it. After all the cooking, she went back to the Moon Palace.

Chang'e was tired and sick to build Guilin landscape. Now she is busy with collecting treasure for a few days. She returns to the Moon Palace. Unexpectedly, she has a case. She has been recuperating for more than three months and has just recovered. That day, Chang'e suddenly remembered that she would return the tribute to the owner. Without waiting for her illness to recover, she rushed down to earth. It turns out that one day in the sky is equal to one year in the world. Chang'e has been ill for more than three months in the Moon Palace, and more than 100 years have passed in the world. The owner's house has been handed down to three or five generations at least. Where can you find it!

Chang'e was full of remorse, but she had no choice but to go to Guangming mountain. No, people have found that there are more than a dozen ferocious servants holding knives and sticks at the entrance of the cave.

What's going on? It turned out that in Baichong village at the foot of the mountain, there was a sheep herding boy. He was very bored when he herded sheep on the mountain every day. When he saw that there were some lush reeds on the mountain, he went to chop them to play flute. Inadvertently, he found the entrance of the cave and went in to have a look. It was full of gold and silver. When he came out, the whole village was shocked. We were about to pick up the baskets for shipment, but the big bully in the opposite village found out. He immediately sent his family members to guard him, hoping to take possession of him.

Chang e thought, let these treasures stay in the world. It must be a disaster. In the future, I don't know how much right and wrong I'm going to cause. I just turn the treasure into a stone, so that people don't forget their lives for it. So I blow a breath of fairy Qi, and that hole of treasure turns into a stalactite. Today, the last scene in reed flute rock is the golden lion.
