Hailong cave

Hailong cave is located at the foot of the west mountain. You can hear the roar of the waterfall inside the cave when you walk into the circular entrance. Stepping into the cave palace, you can see the crystal clear Donghe River, dazzling eyes and various shapes of stalactites. It is said that tens of thousands of years ago, the little prince of Dragon King of Donghai fell in love with the daughter of Mountain God. Because of the drought and no rain, the mountain goddess turned to the Dragon King for help, but the Dragon King refused to protect the water of the Dragon Palace. When Little Dragon King learned this, he returned to the Dragon Palace to call the wind and rain, and spilled the spring water of the Dragon Palace on the mountains and rivers. The old dragon king was so angry that he put little dragon king in the Crystal Palace of Hailong cave. The mountain goddess turned into a stalactite and guarded Little Dragon King in this cave.

Hailong cave

Hailong cave is located on Hailong mountain, Nianzigou, Shangguan Township, in the south of Huating County, the eastern foot of the pass. Located on the cliff, it is a "Karst" cave with an area of about 55 square kilometers and a length of more than 60 meters.

It is said that it is the place where the goddess of the sea dragon sits. 1.5km to the northwest of the cave, there is a Hailong temple, an ancient cypress in Ming Dynasty and two buildings in Qing Dynasty. The main hall is painted with the mythical mural of the goddess of Hailong. It is said that a girl surnamed Li in Changwu County, Shaanxi Province, died early because of her parents and was left alone. Later, she joined her uncle's family in Hengqu, Lingtai County, Gansu Province. Her cousin and sister-in-law thought she was ugly and bald, and abused her in every way. She herded sheep for her cousin's family all day and had to rest with them at night. His cousin niece sympathized with the bald girl's experience and often took care of her.

One night, my niece went to the sheep pen to visit my cousin. She peeped through the door and was startled to find that there was a silver cap on her head. My cousin was taking off the cap to comb her hair, and her black hair was waist level. My cousin was very surprised, so she quietly told her parents. Parents are very happy, think the chance to make a fortune, they decided to grab the silver hat shell.

They went into the sheepfold together, but they didn't expect that the sheepfold was dark. When they took the light to shine on it, the bald girl had disappeared, only to find that the wool she had twisted for years had become a red thread. They decided to go to find the bald girl, and they followed the red wool to the West until they reached the Hailong cave in Huating. There was no more water in the cave.

It turns out that this cave was a silver mine long ago. When a miner got out of the mine, he found a woman dressed in red and riding a red horse galloping at the entrance of the cave. The miner rushed into the mine and called for all the miners to come out and watch. After the miners came out, the red man and the red horse disappeared, and the water from the mine ran out, and the mine was abandoned.

In this way, the people of the square and the people of Lingtai all know that it is the virgin sitting here. Later, a temple was built there, with the name of the goddess of Hailong mountain as the "goddess of Hailong". Every year, the 10th day of March and the 20th day of July in the summer calendar are the main days of temple fairs. Huating, Lingtai and the good men and good women near Longxian County in Shaanxi Province go to the mountains to burn incense and worship. They are very lively and are one of the tourist attractions in Huating county.
