Its main business was real estate. It owned a large number of real estate in Tianjin. It was a powerful financial group in Tianjin at that time. It supported the four dioceses of Tianjin, Beijing, Baoding and Zhengding and Beijing Theological Seminary with its rent and investment profits. Shoushan hall was first built in the original purple bamboo forest church on Yingkou Road. It was moved here after 1900 and built in 1919. After the liberation of Tianjin, Shoushan hall was taken over by Chinese priests. In 1956, it was changed into Tianjin Catholic Seminary, and in 1958, it was changed into Catholic nunnery.
The building is adjacent to Jilin Road in the East, Yingkou Road in the south, Dagu road in the West and Chengde road in the north. With a construction area of 1544 square meters, it is a two-story building of brick and wood structure. It is a French building with stable style, with sloping tile roof, extended cement facing, symmetrical two wings of the facade and protruding in the middle. The building is in good condition.
