Historical evolution
Longquanyi District has a long history and was under the jurisdiction of Shu state in ancient times.
In the Tang Dynasty, Dongyang county and lingchi County ruled the area (Sichuan county annals, Yuanfeng jiuyu annals and Chinese Historical Atlas). Lingchi county is named after a spring pool on the side of Fendong mountain in the south of the county, which is called "lingchi".
In 1026, it was changed to Lingquan County, belonging to Chengdu Prefecture. With the change of county name, Fendong mountain was renamed "Lingquan mountain" until Yuan Dynasty.
The land post station was set up in Yuan Dynasty.
In the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed "Longquan" and a post station was set up here. In the sixth year of Hongwu (1373), Lingquan county was transferred to Jianxian County, followed by Longquan Town (Chinese Historical Atlas). Zhengde eight years (1513), set up Longquan Town inspection department (Jianyang county annals, Sichuan county annals). At the same time, Lingquan mountain was also renamed "Longquan Mountain".
In 1667, a large-scale post station was set up in Sichuan, which was divided into four roads: North, South, East and West. "The east road starts from Longquanyi in Jianzhou and ends at xiaoqiaoyi in Fengjie (general history of Sichuan). The "Longquanyi" in this period is not only the name of the station, but also has the meaning of geographical name. After the rise of post and telecommunications industry in the late Qing Dynasty, the post station was abandoned, and "Longquanyi" became a historical place name, which is still in use today.
In the early years of the Republic of China, Jianyang county administrative branch was set up.
After the founding of new China, it was divided into Jianyang and Huayang counties.
In January 1956, when the former Jianyang County named its districts, it was named "Longquanyi District of Jianyang county (township level)" by the name of the district office.
In 1959, when it was assigned to Chengdu to prepare for the construction of a new district, it was still named Longquanyi, the resident of the District People's Committee, as "Longquanyi District (county level)".
In 1960, with the approval of the State Council, Longquanyi District of Chengdu was established.
In 1976, Luodai District, which belonged to Jianyang county at that time, was merged into Longquanyi District of Chengdu City.
