Site of Station Hotel

The former site of the station hotel in Qingdao, also known as the station hotel, was built in 1913 and designed by German R. matewich. It is two stories high, with attic and tiger window on it. The exterior wall is decorated with mountain flowers. The style of the mountain wall is new Baroque. The main entrance is located at the corner, above which is an octagonal tower with a shrinking spire, forming a perfect view of the 35 meter high station clock tower opposite the station square.

The building is equipped with an external corridor. The geometric flowers on the railings of the corridor belong to the late Gothic style, and are molded with fish bladder pattern. This pattern is often used as decorative patterns in later German Neo Renaissance buildings.

In the 1920s, it was no longer a hotel, but a residential building. From the 1930s to 2001 before the renovation of the old building, it was a dormitory building for railway workers, and now it is a gathering place for several snack bars.
