Feixia mountain scenic spot is commonly known as Feilai Gorge Scenic spot. It is 60 kilometers away from Guangzhou in the South and more than 20 kilometers away from Qingyuan City in the West. It is a provincial scenic spot and tourist resort. It is the 19th blessed place of Taoism. There are beautiful mountains and rivers and numerous historic sites. There are 70 peaks on both sides of the river. The peaks are extremely steep, and the river is winding and rushing. Natural climate

Feixia mountain scenic spot belongs to the East Asian subtropical monsoon climate zone, with an annual average temperature of 20.7 ℃, the lowest temperature in January, the highest temperature in July, and an annual average sunshine of 1662.2 hours.

The precipitation in Feixia mountain is mainly concentrated in summer and less in winter. The average annual rainfall is 1900 mm and the average frost free period is 314.4 days.

Vegetation resources

The forest coverage rate of Feixia mountain scenic spot is 98%. Due to the influence of climate, there is little difference between dry and wet in winter and summer, and the vegetation in the scenic spot is mainly evergreen broad-leaved forest.

Fagaceae, Lauraceae, Theaceae, Magnoliaceae, Schisandraceae, Illicium, Hamamelidaceae, Annonaceae, Rosaceae, elaeodaceae, Papilionaceae, grifolaceae, Styracaceae, Ilex, Rubiaceae, Celastraceae, Moraceae, gambogiaceae, acanthopanaceae, dracocephalaceae, rhododendraceae are common in Feixia mountain scenic spot, and Vaccinium and Acer are common in hilly area There are three genera in this genus, namely, Cunninghamia lanceolata, Keteleeria oleifera, Cathaya argyrophylla and Fokienia hodginsii.

Feixia mountain scenic spot is also one of the five major grass sparrow flower viewing bases in Qingyuan, where a large number of national class II protected plants are bred. At the same time, it is also the city flower of Qingyuan - grass sparrow flower (Latin name: < imucuna birdwoodiana tutch < / I), also known as white flower Youma Teng, Huashan Ma Teng and queer flower.

Sparrow flower belongs to Lathyrus of phaseolidae. In the 1990s, experts discovered the largest "sparrow flower king" in China before 1990 in Feixia mountain of Qingyuan. Its branches and vines covered an area of 3000 square meters, with thousands of flowers blooming. The flower vines were as thick as arms. The root diameter was about 30 cm, and the circumference of the trunk was 75 cm. It was preliminarily estimated that the age of the tree was more than 300 years. Then the "sparrow flower Queen" with an age of about 260 years was found in the col not far from the "sparrow flower king" The diameter is second only to the "sparrow king", the trunk circumference is 70cm, and the flowers are more dense and amazing. The branches and vines spread to the longest part of the root system 70 meters away, which surprised all the experts present. The common birds in Feixia mountain scenic spot are yellow reed, Black Kite, grey throat mountain pepper bird, red eared Bulbul, brown backed Shrike, etc. in addition, in Feilai Lake wetland park scenic spot, there are many waterfowl habitat, common egrets play in groups on the lake, which makes Feixia mountain scenic spot quite poetic.

Most of the birds in the scenic area belong to the category of migratory birds, and most of their populations have the habit of migrating north and South with the seasons. However, due to the suitable climate and good living environment in the scenic area, some migratory birds will change their migration habits and become "resident birds" who stay in Feixia all the year round.

History of scenic spots

Wei, Jin and southern and Northern Dynasties: Feixia mountain scenic spot [Feilai Temple] was built in the first year of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty (520 AD), which has a history of more than 1400 years. Together with Nanhua temple in Shaoguang and baiyun temple in Zhaoqing, it became the three ancient temples in Lingnan.

Feixia mountain temple has a long history of more than 4000 years. It is an important birthplace of Qingyuan and even Lingnan Buddhist culture. It has created many intangible cultures, such as Taoism, Buddhism, blessed land, demoted officials and Moyan stone carvings, with religious culture as the mainstream.
