Daowu mountain

Daowu mountain, formerly known as Baihe mountain, also known as Zhaowang mountain, is located 6.5km north of Liuyang City, Changsha City, Hunan Province. It starts from banana in the West and reaches Baogai in the East. It has 71 peaks and covers an area of 13 square kilometers. It is a national AAA tourist attraction.

Daowu mountain is a holy land of Buddhism. It is planned to have six scenic spots and 43 scenic spots, including Gaoxia Pinghu, Millennium ancient pine, Wulao snowstorm, Millennium Zen temple, etc.

At the foot of the mountain is the intersection of "319" national highway and "106" national highway, 65 kilometers away from Changsha, the provincial capital, and 40 kilometers away from Huanghua Airport.

Introduction to scenery

It's six kilometers north of Liuyang. It is one of the famous mountains in Changsha. Wulaofeng, the main peak, is 786 meters or 4 meters above sea level. It has no clouds on a sunny day. The extreme eyes can overlook Yuelu and Dongting. It is one of the eight ancient Liuyang scenic spots, which is called "Wushan Xueji".

Daowu has many peaks, strange rocks, deep valleys and springs. There are many historic sites on the mountain. Predecessors recorded 24 scenes: zushiyan, lengquanjing, huilongqiao, yinlusong, guajianquan, laolongtan, mingyuehu, longjuan field, hupanqiu, lianhuafeng, Xinghua temple, bailongquan, Wulaofeng, Luohan cave, baiheshan, guabangshan, wushanxueji, shimaqiao, longxingshi, Qipanshi, leipishi, dingxinqiao, peixiuting.

Xinghua temple is located at the foot of the lotus peak of Daowu mountain, with three buildings in front and back. "Xinghua Temple" is inscribed on the forehead of the mountain gate, with a horizontal plaque of "scenic spots on the lake and mountain". In the East and West, there are Jialan and Tudi temples. In the middle is the main hall, about 12 meters high, with three bays on the front, 26 meters wide and 20 meters deep. Inside the hall, there are wooden statues of Sakyamuni sitting on the side, statues of JIAYE and Ananda standing on the side, and clay statues of 24 heavens and 18 Arhats standing on both sides, with a plaque of "sea seal and flowing light" hanging in the center. The gold pillars and eaves pillars in the hall are wooden pillars with a diameter of about 1 meter. The roof is covered with iron tiles, and the word "Daming" is cast on the front of each tile. After the Abbot's room, the four walls are inscribed with ancient and modern poems. When Tan Sitong was a child, he praised my mountain poem: "the setting sun loves the high trees, and the dusk enters the green peak. The cloud of the ancient temple depends on the crane, and the moon shines on the dragon in the empty pool. When the dust disappears, the heart breaks a bell. "In 1958, the people's Government of Liuyang County built a reservoir here, and the Xinghua temple was completely demolished.

It is about 2.5km from the foot of Daowu mountain along the winding climbing path to Xinghua temple. Pines and cypresses are planted on both sides, which are vigorous and straight. This is the guide pine. It is said that it was planted by the abbot monk of Xinghua temple in Ming Dynasty. There were 365 trees, but there were more than 200 before 1930. Chen Guangzhong, the Kuomintang army, was stationed here to build fortifications to prevent the Red Army from attacking and cutting down more than 100 ancient pines. Since then, they have been deforested one after another. Today, 100 plants are still alive. Each plant is thick in diameter, and two or three people embrace each other. It is more than 10 meters high. After the construction of daowushan reservoir, although many places of interest and landscapes are dead in name, they add a bit of lake light and water color, which makes tourists interested.

Daowu mountain is extremely steep and towering, with undulating peaks and ridges, crisscross valleys, springs and waterfalls, dense forests, colorful seasons, and grotesque exposed rocks. Lingxiu jueqiao is famous for its beautiful scenery of one lake, three caves, six springs, ten pools, thirteen streams, twenty-eight rocks, and seventy-one peaks. Tianhu

Tianhu, namely daowushan reservoir, is located on laolongtan, with an altitude of 546 meters. It is called Tianhu because it is located in a high mountain and connected by mountains and rivers. The water in the reservoir is vast, the water depth is several feet, the water quality is pure and sweet, and its scale is not inferior to that of Tianchi in Xinjiang. Tianhu is the center of Daowu mountain scenic spot. It is surrounded by Lianhua peak, Wulao peak, Xiangwang peak and shiziling. There are islands in the lake and pavilions on the island. There are bailongquan and Xinghua temple on the water. On the lakeside are Tianhu Hotel, youhuang villa, Xianyu Pavilion, shopping street and other cultural landscapes. There are shiziyan, feilaiyan, longyingshi, Luohan cave and other natural landscapes along the lake bank.

Guide loose

The leading pine is a unique forest landscape of Daowu mountain. From Shuangxi bridge to Xinghua temple, it spirals up the stone walk at the foot of Donggu mountain. It was originally more than 300 trees, and now 108 trees are over 100 years old. The oldest one is more than 1100 years old. It is said that it was cultivated by Xinghua monks in Tang, song and Ming Dynasties. Pine trees are vigorous and straight, Qiu branch stretch, shade such as cover.

Historical story

It is said that during the reign of Dahe (827-835) of the Tang Dynasty, there was a monk named Zong Zhiren, who did not reach the top of the mountain and sat in a cave blocked by a huge stone. Suddenly, an old man in white called himself shajialong and said to him, "my teacher is the founder of the mountain. I have been waiting for him for a long time. "Zong Zhi replied," this is the only way I want to be. After that, Zong Zhi cut the grass and cut the thorns, opened the mountain, and built Daowu temple with the name of Daowu. During the reign of emperor Wenzong of Tang Dynasty (827-840), it was a great Buddhist temple to protect the country and prosper China. There are many poems written by tourists in the past dynasties. Daowu has many peaks, strange rocks, deep valleys and springs.
