Shuanglin Sanqiao is located in Shuanglin Town, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the scenic spots in the southeast of Huzhou. Shuanglintang is located in the north of Shuanglin Town, connecting Yuhang and Taihu Lake. It leads to Huzhou, Jiaxing, Hangzhou, Shanghai and other places. It is the main water transportation road of Shuanglin town.

Introduction of Shuanglin three bridges

Shuanglin three bridges are the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units, and three bridges across the river can be seen within a few miles from the town: Wanyuan bridge, Huacheng bridge and wankui bridge.

Wanyuan Bridge

It was destroyed by Japanese pirates in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, a wooden bridge was built, named Fucheng bridge. Yongzheng eight years (1730) masonry bridge, renamed Wanyuan bridge. It took seven years from the reconstruction in 1834 to the completion in 1840. Wanyuan bridge is 7 meters high, 51 meters long and 3.5 meters wide. Among the three bridges, the bridge is the most upright and majestic. There are ten pairs of lions chiseled on the stone fence of the bridge in various forms.

Huacheng Bridge

Also known as Tangqiao. Yuanyanyou years (1314-1320) to build, the original Tangkou Huacheng Temple two monks built wooden bridge, so to Huacheng two words for the bridge name. It was rebuilt as a stone bridge in Jiajing middle of Ming Dynasty, and then rebuilt twice in 1630 (the third year of Chongzhen) and 1793 (the fifty eighth year of Qianlong). It has been more than 430 years since the bridge was rebuilt with masonry. Huacheng bridge is 6.6 meters high, 46 meters long and 3.4 meters wide. The bridge has ambition: "the bridge side to cable passenger ships, more by night, called the night port.". The light poles on the bridge are as bright as day. The merchants from all over the world gather here. "

Wan Kui Bridge

In the north of Yuwang temple, it was a wooden bridge at the beginning, built a stone bridge in 1662, the first year of Kangxi, and completed in 1669, which lasted for seven years. Qianlong 55 (1790) reconstruction, 58 years (1793) with the completion of the bridge. Wankui bridge is 6.8 meters high, 51 meters long and 3.2 meters wide.

Shuanglin three bridges, in the same river, less than 400 meters apart, even build three bridges. It's rare. Among them, Huacheng bridge is in the middle, 225 meters away from Wanyuan bridge in the East and 122 meters away from wankui bridge in the West. There is an interesting legend about Shuanglin three bridges! It is said that when people in the north of Shuanglin town went to the morning market at dawn, they were blocked by a big river. They had to cross the river by boat. This matter was known by a pair of twin sisters, they took out their savings to build three bridges. Therefore, Shuanglin bridge is also called sister bridge.
