Monument to Abei zhongmalu
Located in the Xingqing Palace Park in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, the monument of Abei zhongmalu was built to commemorate Abei zhongmalu, an ambassador of Sino Japanese cultural exchange who came to China to study in Tang Dynasty and died in Chang'an. The designer is Zhang Jinqiu, a famous ancient Chinese architect. The monument won the excellent project award of the State Administration of construction in 1981.

Overview of the monument
Abei zhongmalu, whose Chinese name is Chao Heng, is an envoy of Sino Japanese cultural exchange who came to China to study in the 8th century and died in Chang'an. The monument built for him is located in the beautiful Tang Xingqing Palace Ruins Park in Xi'an.
The monument of Abei zhongmalu is made of white marble and imitates the structure of Tang Dynasty. It is 5.36 meters high and dignified. The front of the stele is engraved with the eight characters of "monument to Abei zhongmalu" and the back is engraved with its deeds; the square stone commemorative column, which was born out of the yicihui column and Tang stone lamp, is engraved with the relief of plum blossom and cherry blossom, which symbolize the friendship between China and Japan, the base of the column is carved with lotus petals, the railings around the base are engraved with the relief of Japanese envoys to Tang Dynasty, and the two sides of the column bodies are treated with "roll kill", respectively engraved with Chao Heng's "Wangxiang" Poetry and Li Bai's crying Chao Heng poetry have profound Chinese and Japanese cultural connotations.
