Founded in 1952 by the Department of mining and metallurgy of six famous universities in China, including Tianjin University (formerly Beiyang University) and Tsinghua University, Beijing University of science and technology has developed into a national key university directly under the Ministry of education with engineering as the main subject and coordinated development of engineering, science, management, arts, economics, law and other disciplines.
