College of Applied Science of Jiangxi University of science and technology is located in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, the first city of Ganjiang River. It is the cradle of Hakka culture, the red capital of Chinese revolution, and a famous garden city in China.

The college was established with the approval of Jiangxi Provincial People's Government on August 1, 2001. It is one of the first eight independent colleges approved by Jiangxi Province and one of the first 249 independent colleges confirmed by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China (December 2003). The college was formerly named West point College of Southern Metallurgy College, renamed as Applied Science College of Southern Metallurgy College in 2002 and Applied Science College of Jiangxi University of technology in 2004 College of science, affiliated to Jiangxi University of science and technology, is a full-time regular undergraduate college established by Jiangxi University of science and technology according to the new mechanism and new mode.
