Guangdong Vocational and technical college is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college organized by the people's Government of Guangdong Province. The administrative department is the Department of education of Guangdong Province. Formerly known as Guangdong textile industry school, it was established in 1984, formally enrolled students in 1985, was rated as provincial key technical secondary school in 1993, national key technical secondary school in 2000, and upgraded to Guangdong Textile Vocational and technical college in 2001. In 2012, with the approval of the people's Government of Guangdong Province, the school changed its name to Guangdong Vocational and technical college. The school has two campuses, Chancheng and Gaoming, with a total area of 1127 mu, a construction area of more than 230000 square meters, a total fixed asset value of about 650 million yuan, and a library collection of more than 600000 books. At present, there are 8 departments and 3 departments, namely, Department of textile, Department of light chemical engineering, Department of clothing, Department of art and design, Department of mechanical and electrical engineering, Department of information engineering, Department of economic management, Department of applied foreign languages, Department of public courses, Department of ideological and political theory, Department of continuing education.
