Handan university is a full-time public undergraduate college full of vitality and good prospects for development. It is located in Handan City, Hebei Province, a famous historical and cultural city, a national excellent tourist city, a holy land of Taijiquan and a capital of idioms and allusions. The school's history began with the establishment of Handan Junior Normal School in 1905. In 1982, it was upgraded to Handan normal college. In 2004, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and named Handan University. In 2012 and 2017, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment and audit assessment of the Ministry of education. Continuously deepen the reform of talent training mode. According to the needs of social development, the goal orientation and training mode of professional talent training are inverted, and the talent training program is continuously optimized. In 2014, in order to meet the requirements of comprehensive reform and transformation development, the "1 + 2 + 1" talent training mode reform and a new round of training plan revision were launched. "1 + 2 + 1" talent training mode, that is, after the students enter the school, the first year of general education, the cumulative two years of professional curriculum education, the cumulative one year of professional post ability based practice training.

Vigorously implement the curriculum reform. According to the industry post group and students' ability training needs, all courses are decomposed and reorganized. According to the content of knowledge or the degree of difficulty, general education divides the teaching content into several modules, which are combined into different courses according to the needs of different majors. According to the needs of professional post ability, the professional basic theory and professional core ability are modularized and combined into different courses according to the principle of miniaturization. Pay attention to autonomous learning. Each classroom teaching course is composed of two parts: classroom teaching and students' autonomous learning. Since 2014, it has invested 5.4 million yuan, set up 651 teaching research reform projects, participated in more than 1200 teachers, and produced a large number of teaching achievements. Focus on the construction of scientific research platform. It has the key social science research base "Taihang Mountain document research center" in Hebei Province, philosophy and social science research base "Zhao Culture and regional economy" in Hebei Province, Special Education Collaborative Innovation Center in Hebei Province, photoelectric communication and information system application technology research and development center in Hebei Province, and wild resource plant application technology research and development center in Taihang Mountain Area in Southern Hebei Province Scientific research platform. Hebei Province postdoctoral innovation and practice base has been established to jointly train postdoctors with Nankai University. It has five municipal key laboratories, including embedded system laboratory, virtual reality technology laboratory, resource plant laboratory, organic small molecular materials laboratory, optoelectronic devices and systems laboratory.

Continuously improve the level of scientific research. Since 2014, it has been approved 14 projects of national social science fund, National Natural Science Fund and National Art Fund, 5 humanities and social science research projects of Ministry of education and 5 major key projects of Hebei Provincial Department of education.
