Hebei Institute of foreign languages is the only independent foreign language university in Hebei Province officially approved by the Ministry of education, In order to make students become "quasi professionals with strong professional knowledge, excellent professional skills, rich Chinese background and sufficient employment weight", the specialty is set up on the principle of "learning foreign language in the specialty", and the specialty is built on the principle of "professional company service outsourcing". Through the cultivation of "inverted willow" teaching method initiated by the college, the students' learning is consistent with the employers' needs .

Hebei Vocational College of Foreign Languages is one belt, one road pilot set up by the Hebei Provincial People's government. It is the first national 10 pilot University of applied undergraduate education. It is the supply base for foreign language talents in the country, and the training base for language talents in central and Eastern Europe. It is a training base for languages in Hebei along the "one belt and one road" line established by the provincial education department, the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and the provincial foreign bureaus. It is the multilingual translation selection base of China Wuqiao international acrobatic art festival, the foreign language training base of Xibaipo commentator, and the "typical university with social influence in China" selected by Xinhuanet.

The school employs 870 "expert" professionals from all walks of life as professional course tutors, and 63 foreign experts from 30 countries, covering English, Japanese, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Portuguese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Mongolian, Hausa, Persian, Swahili, Hindi, Indonesian and Polish There are 48 languages including English, Swedish, Bengali and Greek. The "natural language learning method" initiated by the college enables learners of foreign languages from zero to communicate with foreigners fluently in four months, which has been identified as a national key scientific research project by the Ministry of education. In 2011, China Teacher Development Foundation of the Ministry of Education awarded our school the key research experimental area of the 12th Five Year Plan of the National Teacher Research Fund and the key research unit of the 12th Five Year Plan of the National Teacher Research Fund. He has undertaken 20 scientific research projects of the Ministry of education and 26 scientific research projects of Hebei Province, and won 9 awards of the Ministry of education and 42 provincial awards, including 1 teaching achievement award of Hebei Province. Published 72 national core papers, 131 national non core papers, 362 provincial papers, 75 books and 332 translated works.

In order to realize the goal of running an international university, our university has cooperated with the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Ukraine, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Slovenia, Latvia, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Albania, Estonia, Macedonia, Serbia and the Arab League 91 universities in more than 50 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, have signed cooperative school running agreements, including 17 famous universities in 13 central and Eastern European countries, covering the official languages of all central and Eastern European countries. The university has 62 Sino foreign cooperation and exchange projects at the undergraduate, master's and doctor's levels. The forms of cooperation include: exchange students, junior college students, upgrading from undergraduate to master's degree, double bachelor's degree, preparatory courses, etc. Among them, preschool education is the only Sino US undergraduate cooperation program in Hebei Province approved by the Ministry of education. Our university is also the only Russian preparatory center set up by Moscow State Normal University in China. Every year, more than 170 excellent students in our university can get full scholarship, half scholarship, achievement scholarship and other awards from foreign universities, or enjoy the national treatment of the country where they study abroad. At present, 620 students have studied abroad.

In 2015, our one school was established by one of the first "one belt, one road" language talent training base in Hebei province. The school has selected 75 students to attend the intensive training program in the Middle East Europe cooperation University, and opened 16 language training courses in central and Eastern Europe. Seventeen foreign teachers from the cooperative universities of Slovenia, Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Serbia, Albania and other countries have come to our school to teach, and more than 300 students have participated in the study.

The school library has 980000 books, 263 kinds of Chinese and foreign periodicals, and more than 1.2 million kinds of Chinese and foreign e-books, which are introduced into CNKI. Teachers and students can access book resources at any time through campus wired or wireless network. Classes are multimedia classrooms, classes are infrared voice room. There are 20 digital audio-visual rooms and 1300 microcomputers. The campus TV station can receive and broadcast foreign language TV programs in various languages at the same time. Each language has its own language situational teaching and training room, which is the first of its kind in China.

The "dragon and Phoenix planning post" project of the college, through the "West Point" military management, enables more than 95% of the students to accept the training of organizational ability and cadre ability.

The average employment rate of the 11 graduates is 98.6%, and the majors with 100% employment rate account for 96.5% of the total number of majors. As of December 31, 2015, the employment rate of graduates in 2015 was 99.36%, and the counterpart employment rate was 77%. A total of 2286 graduates (468 in foreign language, 380 in business and foreign trade, 368 in information technology, 196 in accounting and finance, 489 in architectural design, 117 in medical care and 268 in Aviation Tourism) have entered the world's top 500 and China's top 500 enterprises, 576 have studied abroad, 848 have worked abroad, and 91% have been employed in other countries Among them, 16 students have served as accompanying translators for foreign presidents and prime ministers. Hebei College Enterprise Employment Promotion Association, founded by our university, has 471 members. The association has signed cooperation agreements with 41 chambers of Commerce directly under the Provincial Federation of industry and commerce. The university has carried out in-depth cooperation with various chambers of Commerce and member units in order training, post practice, professional project co construction, development and utilization of scientific research achievements, and student employment. In order to facilitate the innovation and Entrepreneurship of college students, the university has built the "business incubator for college students of Hebei Foreign Studies University", which has now settled in 17 enterprises. The school also invests 1 million yuan every year to set up a special venture fund to support students' entrepreneurship; in order to improve the success rate of students' entrepreneurship, the school invites successful entrepreneurs to enter the campus from time to time to teach entrepreneurial experience and avoid entrepreneurial risks.

Every year nearly 3000 students in the school have won the national scholarship.
