1. Historical evolution
Civil Aviation University of China is an ordinary university directly under the Civil Aviation Administration of China, which mainly cultivates senior engineering and management talents. The predecessor of the school is the second civil aviation school of the Civil Aviation Administration of the CMC, which was established in September 1951. In December 1958, it was renamed as China Civil Aviation advanced aviation school. In June 1963, it was listed in the rank of ordinary universities and renamed as China Civil Aviation Machinery College. On August 10, 1981, it was renamed China Civil Aviation Institute. On May 30, 2006, it was renamed Civil Aviation University of China.
After more than 60 years of construction and development, the university has become the only institution of higher learning in China with a complete range of civil aviation disciplines and a cross integration of Aerospace Science and technology and transportation engineering. It is known as the cradle of civil aviation talents, the center of science and technology research, and the window of international cultural exchange.
2. School running conditions
The school covers an area of 1.0126 million square meters (1654 mu); the total construction area is 700000 square meters; the total value of fixed assets is 1.6 billion yuan, of which the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is about 1 billion yuan; it has built a domestic first-class engineering and technical training center, 21 internship airplanes and 47 aircraft engines of various types; the library has a total collection of 1.645 million books, 1.65 million e-books and 80 domestic and foreign databases The outlet bandwidth of the campus network is 1000 megabytes, which can provide nearly 10000 computers with internet access at the same time.
3. Subject and specialty
While focusing on giving full play to the traditional advantageous disciplines, the university has continuously improved the discipline structure according to the needs of civil aviation and social development, gradually formed a discipline layout with engineering as the main subject, combining science and engineering, and comprehensive development of management, economics, law and other disciplines, and formed a number of influential advantageous disciplines in the domestic and civil aviation fields. At present, the university has 13 first-class disciplines and 49 second-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, of which four are key disciplines at the provincial and ministerial level, including aviation and aerospace propulsion theory and engineering, transportation planning and management, communication and information system, and enterprise management. 5. Personnel training
Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 80000 graduates of various types for civil aviation and the society, and the graduates cover all production posts and technical fields of civil aviation. One seventh of China's civil aviation employees and one third of its engineering technology and management talents come from schools. The University adheres to the open mode of running a school, and co founded the China Europe Institute of aeronautical engineers with the French University of Aeronautics and Astronautics group.
