Hunan First Normal University

Hunan First Normal University, formerly known as Changsha Chengnan academy founded by Zhang in the Southern Song Dynasty, was established as Hunan Normal University in 1903. In 1912 and 1914, it was changed into Hunan public first normal school and Hunan provincial first normal school, and changed its name to Hunan first normal school after liberation. In 2008, it was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college, which is now more famous.

The school has the reputation of "Millennium University, century Normal University". There are many brilliant stars and celebrities here: Mao Zedong, he Shuheng and Li Da, representatives of the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China; Ren Bishi, one of the party's "five secretaries" in the 1940s; Huang Xing, founder of the Republic of China; Chen Tianhua, a democratic revolutionist who can't be rewarded for being a hero in the sea; Zeng Guofan, Zuo Zongtang and Hu Linyi, famous officials of Zhongxing in the Qing Dynasty; and a large number of outstanding figures such as Cai he Sen, Li Weihan, Xu Teli, Yang Changji, Xie Jueya, Zhou Gucheng, Tian Han, Li Jinxi, Zhang Guoji, Tan Yankai, Wang Xianqian and he Shaoji have studied or worked here. There are 48 teachers and students (including Chengnan Academy) in Cihai. Mao Zedong studied and worked here for eight years, and engaged in a series of revolutionary activities such as the founding of the Communist Party of China. He realized the transformation from a young student to a professional revolutionist, from a radical democrat to a great Marxist. The school has a long history and profound cultural heritage, and has made great contributions to the cause of education, liberation and socialist construction of the Chinese people.

Since the founding of new China, the party and state leaders have been very concerned about the construction and development of schools. Mao Zedong praised "a teacher is a good school", wrote the name of "the first normal school" in his own handwriting, and wrote the inscription "to be the teacher of the people, to be the student of the people first". Xu Teli visited the University six times and wrote the inscription "seeking truth from facts, not being self righteous". Jiang Zemin inscribed the bronze statue of "Young Mao Zedong" standing on campus. Party and state leaders Deng Yingchao, song renqiong, Song Ping, Li Lanqing, Li Changchun, Li Tieying, Liu Yandong, Peng Peiyun, Chen Zhili, Zhou Tienong, Lu Yongxiang, Xu Kuangdi, etc. visited the University. Many foreign heads of state visited the University.

The school is a national key cultural relic protection unit, a national patriotism education demonstration base, a national Red Tourism classic scenic spot, a national primary school backbone teacher training base, a national education system reform pilot unit, a national school art education advanced unit, a provincial primary school teacher training and research teaching reform base, and a Hunan language standardization demonstration school.
