Hebei Agricultural University

Founded in 1902 (the 28th year of Guangxu reign of Qing Dynasty), Hebei Agricultural University is the earliest institution of higher agricultural education in China, the earliest institution of higher learning in Hebei Province, and the key backbone University of Hebei Province jointly built by the people's Government of Hebei Province, the Ministry of education, the Ministry of agriculture and the State Forestry Administration. It is the first batch of colleges and universities to implement the "excellent engineer education and training plan" by the Ministry of education, the Ministry of agriculture and the State Forestry Administration.

The school has experienced Zhili agricultural school, Zhili higher agricultural school, Hebei Provincial Agricultural College, Hebei Agricultural University and other historical periods. In the 1950s, the forestry department was transferred to Beijing to participate in the establishment of Beijing Forestry University (now Beijing Forestry University); the animal husbandry and veterinary department was transferred to Inner Mongolia to participate in the establishment of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University (now Inner Mongolia Agricultural University); The Department of water resources was transferred to Wuhan and participated in the establishment of Wuhan Institute of hydropower (the predecessor of Wuhan University of water resources and electric power, now incorporated into Wuhan University).

The school has five campuses (Baoding east west campus, Qinhuangdao, Dingzhou campus, Bohai campus), covering an area of 3.2 million square meters, with a construction area of nearly 1.27 million square meters; more than 2.2 million paper books and documents; equipment value of 1.561 billion yuan; more than 330 hectares of affiliated experimental farms and more than 2700 hectares of forest farms. There are more than 3000 in-service staff, 426 professors and corresponding titles, 635 associate professors and corresponding titles, 147 doctoral supervisors, 592 master supervisors, 7 academicians and presidents, and 82 State Council government special subsidies and provincial experts. There are 27 colleges, 6 mobile post doctoral research stations, 8 first level discipline doctoral programs (covering 31 second level discipline doctoral programs), and 3 second level discipline doctoral programs; 20 first level discipline master programs (covering 62 second level discipline master programs), and 15 second level discipline master programs; It has 7 master's degree authorization points in agricultural extension, veterinary medicine, landscape architecture, engineering, forestry, public management and art. There are 1 national key (cultivation) discipline, 2 ministerial key disciplines, 4 strong characteristic disciplines in Hebei Province and 16 provincial key disciplines. The disciplines cover eight categories of "agriculture, industry, management, science, economics, arts, law and art", forming a pattern of multi-disciplinary coordinated development with the advantages of agricultural disciplines.

The university has a National Engineering Technology Research Center - "national northern mountain agricultural engineering technology research center". 30 provincial and ministerial key laboratories (Engineering Center, base, test station). Since the 11th five year plan, it has undertaken 1280 national, provincial and ministerial level major scientific and technological projects, invested more than 730 million yuan in scientific research funds, identified 682 scientific and technological achievements, approved 64 new varieties, more than 270 patents, more than 500 scientific and technological works, more than 2400 three index papers, promoted more than 1300 new achievements, new varieties and new technologies, and created 10 billion yuan of social benefits annually. It has won 324 science and technology awards above provincial and ministerial level, including 6 national second prizes, 1 outstanding contribution award of science and technology in Hebei Province, 38 provincial first prizes and 90 second prizes.
