Xianning Vocational and Technical College

Xianning Vocational and technical college was approved by the people's Government of Hubei Province in April 2003. It is a combination of Xianning Education College, Xianning applied science and technology school, Xianning finance and trade business administration school and Xianning finance and tax accounting school. The history of running a school began in 1965 when Xianning district was established. Xianning branch of Huazhong Agricultural College, the predecessor of former Xianning Education College, was founded in 1976. In 1984, it was designated as "Hubei secondary vocational teacher training base" by the provincial people's government. In 1999, it was designated as "the first batch of higher vocational education pilot colleges in Hubei Province" by the provincial people's government. In the process of running a school for more than 40 years, the college has trained nearly 100000 professionals at all levels, including more than 23800 higher vocational graduates.

In 2003, the college was jointly determined by the Ministry of education, the Ministry of information industry and other six ministries and commissions as one of the 79 Model Higher Vocational Colleges in China to "carry out the training of skilled talents in the field of computer application and software technology". Afterwards, it plans to invest 180 million yuan in four years to expand the main campus. By the end of 2007, the expansion project of the main campus will be completed and put into use.

The campus area of the college is 1086 mu, the building area of the college is 370000 square meters, the total value of fixed assets is 480 million yuan, the total value of teaching equipment is 51.058 million yuan, the library has a collection of 1.082 million books (including e-books), 383 kinds of periodicals and 38947 volumes of bound books. A 100000 megabyte campus network has been established, and the education and teaching facilities, sports venues and student living facilities are complete .

The college has 10 departments, namely Department of bioengineering, Department of machinery, Department of electronic information engineering, Department of computer science, Department of management, Department of Finance and economics, Department of art, Department of physical education, Department of Arts and law, Department of English; 34 higher vocational education majors, involving science, engineering, agriculture, economics, arts, law, management, art, sports, teaching and other categories, with 12026 full-time students and 1028 teaching staff, including teachers There are 762 teachers, 151 teachers with professional titles of deputy high school or above, and 96 young teachers with graduate degree or above.

The college has been recognized as the National Computer Rank Examination Center, the National English rank examination center and it & at training base, with Hubei self-taught examination center and provincial Putonghua proficiency test station, as well as numerical control experimental training room, electronic and electrical comprehensive laboratory, audio-visual experimental training room, Single Chip Microcomputer Laboratory, computer information management laboratory, material laboratory and measurement laboratory Among them, the horticultural technology training base was approved as the "central financial support award training base construction project"; 109 stable off campus teaching practice and training bases were built, including multimedia audio-visual education room, voice room, electronic reading room, etc.
