Xinxiang Medical College

Xinxiang Medical College, located in Xinxiang City, Henan Province, is the only independent undergraduate college of Western medicine in Henan Province. The school's origin can be traced back to the western medicine clinic opened by Lloyd in 1896. Medical education started in 1922 at the nursing school of Huimin hospital. It enrolled four-year nursing students and was awarded a diploma by the Chinese Nursing Association (named "Chinese Nursing Association" in 1923). In 1949, jiluyu health school and Harrison hospital moved in, and Pingyuan medical school was established in 1950. The school has experienced the development stages of North China Second Medical School, Jixian medical school in Henan Province and Xinxiang Medical College. In 1962, it changed its name to Yubei Medical College; in 1982, it was upgraded to an undergraduate course and named Xinxiang Medical College; in 1998, it obtained the right to grant a master's degree; in 2006, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of education and obtained excellent results.

At present, the school covers an area of 1916 mu (including the Affiliated Hospital), with a building area of 1.3516 million square meters, a total value of nearly 300 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment, 1.1237 million paper books and 3753.13gb e-books. At present, there are 11941 teaching staff (including Affiliated Hospital), including 1606 senior professional and technical personnel.

The university has 20 teaching colleges (departments and departments), with a relatively complete higher education system of graduate students, undergraduate students, international students, Sino foreign cooperation in running schools, adult education, etc., and an independent college, Sanquan college. It has three national resident standardized training bases, two national general practitioner clinical training bases, one national clinical pharmacist training base, one national county-level hospital blood purification training base, and four provincial specialized nurse training bases. It has established five kinds of domestic and foreign public publications, including journal of Xinxiang Medical College, new progress in Ophthalmology, Chinese Journal of Practical Pediatrics, Journal of Clinical Psychosomatic Diseases, and Chinese Journal of brain diseases and rehabilitation (Electronic Edition), among which new progress in ophthalmology and Chinese Journal of practical pediatrics are the core Chinese journals. It has 5 directly affiliated hospitals with 9406 beds, 16 non directly affiliated hospitals and more than 100 teaching practice bases. A number of hospitals were rated as the National People's trust model hospitals, and continuously selected into the top 100 municipal hospitals in China. The First Affiliated Hospital is the first batch of national resident standardized training base, and joined the Ivy League of hospitals in 2015. The Second Affiliated Hospital has established the first provincial mental health medical association in China.

Schools adhere to the quality of school. The first voluntary enrollment rate and admission score of college entrance examination ranked in the forefront of science colleges in Henan Province for years. Students in the National College Students' clinical skills competition, the National College Students' English competition, "Challenge Cup" and other activities have achieved good results. In 2014, it achieved a breakthrough in the national teaching achievement award. The year-end employment rate of undergraduate graduates remains above 95%, and that of Postgraduates remains 100% for many years.

There are 17 scientific research bases above provincial and ministerial level, including Henan collaborative innovation center of molecular diagnosis and medical laboratory technology, Henan Key Laboratory of biological psychiatry, Henan Key Laboratory of medical tissue regeneration, postdoctoral research workstation and academician workstation. In 2014, the third-party medical laboratory center obtained the medical institution license of Henan Province and became a new type of clinical laboratory center adapting to the medical system reform. In the past five years, he has undertaken 107 projects supported by NSFC and published 1310 SCI papers.
