Inner Mongolia University of Finance and economics is located in the capital city of Hohhot. It was founded in 1960. It is the first finance and economics university set up in ethnic minority areas. After 57 years of construction and development, it has become a University of Finance and economics with distinctive regional and national characteristics, which mainly undertakes undergraduate education and postgraduate training, mainly focuses on economics and management, and integrates science, law, engineering and literature.

The university has more than 21700 students in general higher education. There are four first-class disciplines of theoretical economics, applied economics, business administration and statistics, 23 second-class discipline master's degree authorization points, and three professional master's degree authorization points of MBA, MPAcc and MF. In the aspect of national education, it has formed the talent training characteristics with hierarchical teaching and "enrollment training employment" linkage mechanism as the main content.
