Hebei Normal University is a provincial key university jointly built by the people's Government of Hebei Province and the Ministry of education. It has a history of more than 100 years and a glorious tradition of running a school. The school originated from shuntianfu school in Beijing in 1902 and Beiyang women's normal school in Tianjin in 1906. In June 1996, the former Hebei Normal University and Hebei Normal University merged with Hebei Institute of education founded in 1952 and Hebei Vocational and Technical Normal University founded in 1984 to form a new Hebei Normal University. Among the alumni are Deng Yingchao, Liu Qingyang, Guo Longzhen, Yang Xiufeng, Kang Shien, Rong Gaotang, etc., famous scholars Liang Shuming, Zhang Shenfu, Tang Yongtong, etc., academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Yan Luguang, Hao Bailin, Li Shushen, etc., as well as a group of elite sports talents such as Xu Shaofa, Cai Zhenhua, etc. Since the founding of new China, the university has trained more than 200000 professionals for the country.

The new campus covers an area of 1829 mu with 2.9 million books. The school has 2818 in-service staff, including 1377 full-time teachers. Among the on-the-job teaching staff, there are 420 vocational staff, 960 Deputy vocational staff, 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 117 excellent experts at or above the provincial level, 145 doctoral tutors and 970 master tutors. The school now has 21 professional colleges and 1 Independent College (Huihua College). There are 94 undergraduate majors, 8 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, which can recruit more than 50 doctoral majors, and 26 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, which can recruit more than 130 master's majors. The school has built a complete teacher education system of "three simultaneous education" and integration of training and training in basic education, vocational education and higher education. In particular, since 2006, the system has carried out the post practice teaching project, and on this basis, gradually formed a "3.5 + 0.5" new talent training mode, and further strengthened the characteristics of teacher education. Hebei mathematics research center, mobile Internet of things Research Institute and Nihewan Ancient Research Institute have been established to actively carry out school enterprise (local) cooperation. The research base of revolutionary spirit and cultural resources of the Communist Party of China has achieved fruitful theoretical research results, and has been included in the construction series of national key research bases of Humanities and social sciences.
