Zhejiang University of Finance and economics is a University of Finance and economics with economics and management as the main body, economy, management, arts, law, science, engineering and arts as the coordinated development. The school is located in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province, with beautiful scenery. Its predecessor is Zhejiang finance bank school, which was founded in 1974. In 1987, it was approved by the former State Education Commission to establish Zhejiang University of Finance and economics. In 1991, it was granted the right to confer a bachelor's degree, in 2003, it was granted the right to confer a master's degree, in 2006, it was awarded the excellent undergraduate teaching evaluation by the Ministry of education, and in 2012, it was approved to serve the national special needs of doctoral personnel training In 2013, it was renamed Zhejiang University of Finance and economics with the approval of the Ministry of education.

The school has three campuses, Xiasha, Wenhua and Chang'an, covering an area of 2300 mu, with a total construction area of 970000 square meters. At present, there are 15 colleges, 2 teaching departments, 1 independent college and 51 research institutions, which have the right to confer doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees and the right to recruit foreign students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The university has more than 24000 full-time undergraduates and postgraduates (including 9651 students from independent colleges). The total fixed assets of the university is 1.647 billion yuan, including 160 million yuan of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment, and 71 professional laboratories. The library has built the Nobel Prize in Economics Library, Caiyuan library, Zhejiang Business Library and other self built characteristic libraries, with a paper collection of more than 2.33 million books, 2035 Chinese and foreign language journals, more than 4.67 million e-books and nearly 30000 e-journals.

The university has a doctoral program serving the special needs of the country. It has 6 first-class master degree programs in Applied Economics, theoretical economics, business administration, public administration, law and statistics, 44 second-class master degree programs, and 6 professional master degree programs in Business Administration (MBA), accounting, finance, insurance, taxation and asset evaluation. It has one key research base of philosophy and Social Sciences in Zhejiang Province, three key research bases of Humanities and Social Sciences in Colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province, eight key disciplines in Zhejiang Province, two key laboratories in Zhejiang Province, one key innovation team in Zhejiang Province and one innovation team in Colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province. There are 45 undergraduate majors, including 4 national characteristic majors, 2 national comprehensive reform pilot projects, 11 provincial key majors and 6 provincial advantageous majors. It has 1 national teaching team, 4 provincial teaching teams, 4 national excellent resource sharing courses, 4 national excellent courses, 29 provincial excellent courses, 10 national teaching materials, 44 provincial key teaching materials, 1 provincial Talent Training Mode Innovation Experimental Zone, 1 provincial postgraduate education innovation demonstration base, and 7 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers. In recent years, the university has won two second prizes of the national teaching achievement award and three first prizes of the provincial teaching achievement award. It is one of the first batch of 31 College English teaching reform demonstration projects in China.

At present, there are 1326 teaching staff, including 910 full-time teachers, 155 with senior professional titles and 324 with deputy senior professional titles. Teachers with senior professional titles account for 53% of the total number of teachers, and those with doctor's and master's degrees account for 85% of the total number of teachers. In recent years, the university has won 6 outstanding achievements Awards (HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES) of the Ministry of education for scientific research in Colleges and universities, 24 provincial and ministerial level scientific research achievements awards, 1 national major bidding project for philosophy and social sciences research, 2 national major science and technology special sub projects, 103 National Social Sciences and natural science foundation projects, 1 key research project for philosophy and Social Sciences Research of the Ministry of education, 2 national major science and technology special sub projects The Ministry of education and other provincial and ministerial level projects are 378, and the number of national scientific research projects in philosophy and Social Sciences ranks in the forefront of Zhejiang provincial universities. The school publishes the financial and economic treatises and Zhejiang non state owned Economic Yearbook, which are published at home and abroad. The magazine is one of the top 100 social science journals in China, the national Chinese core journal, the core journal of Chinese Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the source journal of CSSCI.

The University adheres to putting the improvement of talent training quality in the first place, actively promotes the teaching reform, and constantly expands the proportion of students pursuing double majors and double degrees, and the proportion of excellent students and special students changing majors. We have established good inter school relations with 73 universities in 21 countries and regions, such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan.
